  • Can we just take a minute and look at something. It’s never been confirmed nor denied if halo and destiny are in the same universe. However if they are then it’s high possible that the timeframe halo took place and the start of that the 2 would be together therefor the event of halo may of lead the world into the golden age where we strived for decades. And seeing how master chief isn’t immortal during them years he dies. Thus at later point being revived as a guardian... how’s that tickle you fancy. Neither is stronger because master chief is a guardian!

    • This post was made 5 years ago when Destiny was still new and Halo had more games so show off feats. But as of right now its clear guardians are more superior I don't get how you can call the chief any better of a shot than any Guardian, considering Guardians in game are capable of the same level of pinpoint accuracy as spartans. Infact, the argument of "better shot" is really stupid considering that anyone can have an excellent shot. But can you keep up the consistency when being assailed by an ontological weapon, or fighting a literal inter-dimensional deity? How about while being flung across time? I don't think the chief has ever had to kill a god before, and yet Guardians can do it with a little elbow grease and a backpack full of bullets. Faster? Doubt it. If you're talking reflexes, I once again present you with the fact that Titans are known as extremely lethal in hand to hand combat, besting literal giants by beating their skulls in with anything, up to and including their own heads. If you're talking actual movement speed, a reminder that Guardians are capable of (temporary) flight AND teleportation, and this is without the fact that the ghost can just teleport them wherever they want to go. And please, you want to mention that Spartans are smart? Warlocks are the scholars of the Last City. I'm certain even the smartest spartan would be dumbfounded by an explanation a warlock would give on the way a Vex Gate works, or how exactly Oryx's throne world can exist inside the Dreadnaught. Lol. I present you with literal frickin laser beams. Sleeper Simulant. Fusion Rifles. Omolon weapons. Trace Rifles. Gjallarhorn. Icebreaker. Black Hammer/Spindle. Aside from Forerunner Weaponry, not a single thing in the Covenant, Flood, or UNSC's weaponry could match, let alone surpass the weapons available to Guardians. Guardians have shields as well. I don't get how their shielding is any worse considering they can still tank anything from a sniper bullet to a rocket barrage from a centurion, to the onslaught of sun energy being fired from a Vex (yes, vex weaponry siphons energy from suns). And arguing survivability is pointless considering that even if you COULD kill a Guardian, they'd just respawn, literally. See above. Also see Exotic equipment, and artifacts. Heck even Legendaries. I don't recall MJOLNIR giving me the ability to auto guide my rockets, or allowing me to super charge my melees with arc energy, or allow me to deflect literally any projectile by waving a sword at it. Joe Staten literally says this in a Vidoc about destiny, that the Guardians were designed to make the Chief look obsolete and outclassed. The Guardians are Spartans turned up to 11, without the edgy backstory and requirement of being a hardass. Not to mention the fact that I don't see any Gods, time travelling/manipulating robots, or inter-dimensional spectres on Chief's list of things that he's killed. Take note, the original creators of Halo are stating that Guardians > Spartans. That should mean something. Light dies, Ghost comes back for us. Meanwhile, Cortana almost dies, and decides to turn her back on humanity. Ghost: 1 Cortana: -10. Lame example, but I haven't seen cortana bring chief back from the brink of death by healing him. I don't see Cortana being better than an AI created by a hyper advanced sentient machine that literally dispenses space magic upon people of it's choosing. Infact, Cortana needed forerunner tech to even have a real presence in the galaxy besides the Chief's pet computer/cyber gf. Please continue. I'll take fists of lighting, flaming hammers, and shields made of void energy over armor lock, any day. By the way, stripping guardians of their ability to use their "abilities" is pretty weak. You're handicapping one party to give the other one a better chance, although, Destiny 2 explored that. I didn't need a double jump, grenades, or super, to tear apart four armed space pirates, and I don't think I'd need them to give Chief the hands, considering he struggled in a drunken slugfest with Locke. Abilities or not, Guardians, due to their armor, and weapons, as well as innate fighting prowess, would dominate the Chief, or Spartans.

      • Of course, there's also the fact that Guardians are literally immortal. The Master Chief would expect an enemy to stay dead :). I think that for the purposes of an argument, we should ignore the fact of immortality.

      • Well, I do know that guardians have powers, but they barely wear any armor, excluding titan. So chief takes any weapon, easily kills the Guardians, then guns their ghosts. Now if you put him up against a titan, well they don't have the reflex of a spartan, and we'll use master chief at his peak in halo 3 (in my opinion). The titan at his peak, using the flaming hammer, he powers up, and then master chief pulls out a bubble shield and/or invisibility, Master chief then takes a plasma grenade, and sticks the titan.

        • Ok so my opinion is that the guardian would win because Gurdians have actual powers because of the travelers light. And yes I know it you can say that master chief could just kill the ghost but here's the thing, if it's that simple then why didn't the fallen or any other enemy in the destiny universe do that in the first place. I think the spartan would have a very hard time trying to kill the ghost. One the other hand Spartans are super solders that have incredible strength but like I said before they have no true power. In the end a Gurdians could easily take down a normal spartan but master chief being the top spartan would be hard but would still lose in the end.

        • In current destiny the guardian would win as they have killed many powerful beings including crota, oryx, the black heart, and Aksis. The guardians have extremely powerful abilities such as golden gun, nova bomb, teather, stormtrance, arc blade, panic smash, and hammers. Powerful weapons like gjallarhorn, necrochasm, vex Mythoclast, touch of malice (which uses oryx' s heart) outbreak prime, and the exotic swords. Guardians have better abilities, weapons, and have completed tougher feats.

            • A guardian would win because... 1. They can get revived by their ghosts if they die 2. They have many abilities that would give them a serious advantage over a spartan 3. They have weapons that would make short work of any spartan (vex mythlocast, gjallarhorn, swords, etc)

              • Master chief could turn into forge ball and ram the guardian into the wall with a grid Then he would put a kill ball over a respawn point so he could never respawn - The guy with no house

None. Master chief can't reach the guardian cause he's tied to a leash held by Bill gates and the guardians too busy sh*tting out salt.

                        • Speaking of raw power, hands down the Spartans/Chief would win. He could easily destroy a guardian. With abilities in mind (space magic in destiny/ spartan abilities in halo) it would be a close fight but i still think spartans would win. They may not have fiery hammers of hell or golden penis guns that kill you instantly (except for CE magnum), but spartans know how to handle impossible missions and get positive outcomes. The chief took down scarabs, wraiths, covenant ships single handedly and even survived falling from space onto the surface of earth. Guardians are not battle geniuses but they do know how to persevere and use what they can from the remains of the Golden Age and they're abilities are pretty damn cool. The similarities of their abilities : ground slam=fist of havoc; bubble shield=ward of light but the guardians still have the nova bomb, blade dancer, radiance, stormcaller, and shadow shot to their advantage. Even so i still believe that the Chief would. He was able to survive his encounter with the gravemind, the flood, the Ur-Didact and the Composer as well as the multi bodied Warden and the Guardians(from Halo 5). They all had some sort of special ability beyond that of physical prowess/strength and yet he still defeated most of them/ survived them. The Guardians had to team up together and use relics to even damage Atheon, Crota, and Oryx. It would be a really close fight but overall i do believe Chief would win against a guardian.

                                  • The problem with this topic is that fanboys on both sides refuse to look at the argument objectively, choosing instead to blindly defend their positions with emotionally charged outbursts that lack any actual substance. Both sides call attention to silly gameplay mechanics and completely ignore what actually matters—lore. Only those who have an understanding of both the Grimoire and the Halo novels, movies, etc. belong here.
