30 vs 60 FPS - Go Away Last Gen

I didn't even realize that Destiny was running at 30 FPS until after the Alpha. I was reading up on everything I could find about the game due to my withdraws and found the article stating that it was locked at 30 for cross-platform play. During the Alpha I did notice it felt "smooth" or cinematic, but the game was beautiful and played great so all was well. Out of boredom today I fired up Titanfall for the first time in nearly 2 months. I hopped into a game and BOOM.. The 60 FPS smacked me in the face hard. I could tell a huge difference.. It was quick, responsive, fluid. It really made me stop and think how much better Destiny could be if Bungie wasn't trying to cater to the last gen consoles. But that said, maybe its not a big deal... I did start by saying I didn't even notice while playing. However, I still can't help but feel like it could be a better game if next gen only. Thoughts?

  • Humans can not even process 24fps fully let alone 60. That is why you did not notice, and why it is not needed to be honest. Besides if they can lock it at 30 without any stuttering that would be preferable to having a ridiculous fr that slow on occasion. (At least to me.)

    • Eh. We 're still early enough in next-gen to still support last-gen, I think. Give it a couple years and it'll be 1080p, 60fpf all around.

    • It doesn't bother me. It'd be nice, sure, but as long as its smooth I won't complain too much. I think with the next release we'll see an improvement in frames per second. Right now... there's nothing we can really do about it and it isn't a deal breaker for me personally so I'm not going to rage over it.

Nah, 120fps with 120hz is the way to go :-P. I also want the game to be compatible with Project Morpheus and Virtuix Omni.

    • 2015 is when we'll start getting our money's worth. Sucks but oh well right..Bungie won't change it. Too many last gen sales they'd miss out on, not hating because business wise it's smart.

I felt like an elitist snob complaining when I first booted up the Alpha, but luckily I've played enough Halo to adapt to it.
