Two of the most notorious gaming companies today. Rockstar north VS 343 Infustries. and we aren't talking about the quality of their games today; GTA can't compare to Halo. Its what they have done that we're comparing
EDIT: The one with more votes is the more favored one.
R*'s failure, not listening.
R* made GTA, and it seems they have mastered the art of it in the last one. But then rockstar decided to play dangerously. They first off delayed GTA online when GTA was released. When we finally came to GTA online, it was a mess. Car glitches, RP boosting, hackers, and there weren't any heists. From day 1 we were promised heists.
Days turned into weeks, which turned into months. No heists. And many bugs still yet to be fixed. And with filler DLC's as a petty attempt to keep the fans addicted to GTA, its without a doubt, on a decline to death. If not already there.
343i's failure, being cocky.
Bungie made Halo 3 and said to MS "ok we're done." MS said: "lolnope. 2 more Halo's." So Bungie made ODST and Reach. Then they split into 2, one tasked to manage Halo in Bungies abscence. And 343i was born. And 343i had a large problem to begin with. Reach was a mess when bungie left. 343i did manage to clean all bungies mistakes, but stability creates instability, and 343i got far too careless, far too soon. They made a Halo 4. And they instantly got themselves into a very huge hole. Halo 3 killed both the flood and forerunners. 343i was left to make up its own story, and they pulled ideas from reach. Again, not realizing reach almost flopped, because of AA's, Bloom, ect. But 343i did a halo 3 pre-heroic map pack with forge. They removed forge world from halo. Fileshare also was down, crippling the halo community. With the amount of hype, there was only 1 direction this game could go. Down. When Halo 4 released, BAM. It fell apart. Boltshot and DMR were the leading factor of the downfall. 343i soon realized and when they got to fixing it, it was too late. And Halo 4 died within months. But has 343i died? Thats to be determined.
R* losing to 343i? Sigh.

I'll give you my opinion next week

343i is love, 343i is life.

Edited by Gatsby: 6/15/2014 5:35:14 PMNotorious? Notorious? 343 have only made 1 proper game lol
-
I lol'd at the 3rd option.

343i is a great company, true they didn't listen at first but they are improving, but yeah the DMR, Boltshot, Plasma Pistol and Plasma Grenades, and certain armor abiliities being in loadouts did kill an otherwise good game >DMR: Killed gunplay >Boltshot: Killed Close Quarters >Plasma Pistol: Killed Vehicle play >Plasma Grenades: Killed Close Quarters and vehicle play >Promethian Vision: Is a wallhack
-
Gta V still doesn't have heists? Holy Shit.
-
What's wrong with R*? An honest company taking a risk in a stale industry that put out free content galore Vs 343 A company learning, having improved massively and doing an enormous fan service This poll is stupid
-
Pre GTA online and E3 2014 I would say Rockstar. Now though I would say 343i.
-
343 is divisible by 7...
Conspiracy
Edited by Vgnut: 6/15/2014 1:22:51 AMYou're comparing the developer of the GTA games to the studio whose sole game is Halo 4? Are you asking which developer is better because that's Rockstar North. Who would say 343 is the better dev? If we're going off just the GTA games since III released in 2001 I think we'd agree IV was probably the weakest. GTA IV is a way better game than Halo 4. Rockstar North has developed some of the greatest games in existence. Even if you're just going off IV and V they're still the better studio.

Rockstar made GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA V. All of those games have done something innovative that no other games have ever done in their time. 343i so far has made Halo 4 which was not the best example of a Halo game. It took what Reach had and made it worse.
-
I guess Rockstar: massively influential developer of some of the finest games ever made. I love Halo and 343, but objectively it's just not as 'big' as Rockstar.
-
The story of Halo 4 was pretty decent in my opinion. The story for GTA V was too cluttered with useless and boring missions. I'm going to have to disagree with some of your points. While 343i strayed too far from what Halo is, they changed their ways and are back on the path. The fact that I'm still waiting for heists is pretty pathetic on R*'s part. If we're just comparing those two games, I'm honestly going to give 343i the upper hand.

I'll tell you next week
Boltshot and DMR were the leading factor of the downfall.
Wtf. The DMR was a damn good weapon until the bitches kept complaining and made it useless.

Edited by Shdooby: 6/14/2014 9:38:32 PMDefine 'cocky'. They developed a successful AAA title with a dev team of around 100 people who didn't know each other. They also expanded upon the outside universe and utilized it in the best plot in the Franchises history. They have done incredible with the lore of Halo, and have earned my respect.
-
I stopped playing both games rather quickly. I guess R* for GTA V on PC.
-
Wait do they win by being worst?
-
Rockstar takes like a whole year to listen to the community. They did the same thing with RDR
-
343i may have dropped the ball with Halo, but at least it's fun.
-
Rockstar because of GTA V...
