I've had my cat, Summer, for just under two years, now. I got her for free from some people that found a box of kittens on the side of a dirt road in the country so she doesn't have any shots (I'm assuming).
For the past couple of months she's been peeing in random places like on a pile of news papers, on the carpet in the living room, in the basement (which is pretty much a concrete cellar) and just 20 minutes ago she peed on the coffee table in the living room.
My parents are heartless -blam!-s and want to simply abandon her the way her litter was abandoned when she was barely 2-3 months old. I, personally, think that is -blam!-ed up and don't think it's humane.
I read some things online saying she might have a urinary tract infection or she might be refusing to share the litter box with my other cat, Misiu, even though they've been fine with it until, presumably, now.
TL;DR
Cat is 2 years old, is peeing everywhere, was fine until recently, maybe urinary tract infection, I don't want to abandon her.

Two of my four cats do this. I imagine it's due to stress. I know one of my cats is scared as shit of my mom, and the other is rejected by the other three. First, clean up wherever they've been peeing. If they smell piss, they're going to piss there. Second, make sure the litter box is clean. Cats won't go to a dirty box. And third, see if your cats are getting along. If they aren't, try to keep them apart when they eat/shit/piss, until they readjust to each other's scent.
