Primordial, This is a pretty solid list. Well done. With Hardcore mode, I'm very interested to see how they do it. This is very similar to Halo's Skulls, but with this being a shared world experience I'm not exactly sure how they would implement it. Granted, most of the ideas you put forth could be individually instanced if you will so it certainly is possible. As well, you could make Strikes/Raids work in the same fashion as Halo's Firefight skulls and whatnot. Difficulty in general is a delicate concept to deal with as Bungie has stated multiple times they want us to be able to play with our friends and not let character level disparity create unnecessary borders. For your defense mission, I certainly hope they have a day (or multiple days) where events happen surrounding the Wall. And they could be phased events. Imagine that the Fallen have gained a foothold near the last city on Earth and they start pounding on our defenses. Phase One could be epic if it were a 3-5 day event with small instanced public skirmishes interspersed around the area. You could take out one in a ten-min battle, only to have another one crop up two minutes later. The meta-challenge which could be linked to Bungie.net is that once 100k skirmishes are destroyed we then go on the offensive and take it to the Fallen Forward Operating Base for Phase Two. We then battle it out there for 2-3 days until they're knocked out. Whoever participates in a phase gets a reward and if you participate in both phases you get three rewards. Just some thoughts. JTS

  • Wow, thanks, and I think I will add a variant of your last idea to the list.

  • Another quicky - one of the reasons that I keep coming back to Borderlands 2 is Gearbox's amazing Shift Code system coupled with the Golden Keys. While it's slightly obnoxious to have to be in the game in order to redeem the codes (thus having to use the on screen keypad), the rewards are worth it. Furthermore, they have been continuous for the past 18 months+ thus you keep coming back and playing. The nice thing about Golden Keys is that it's effectively gambling with a high chance of an upgrade. It's always at your current level and is always available. Gearbox uses Social Media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, etc) to push out the Shift Codes. As well, the Shift Codes aren't only for Golden Keys but also for skins, heads and other items. Bungie has started to do something similar with its trading card/redeemable code system. They have stated that there are 17 codes with 8 more to follow. I can see this be an adaptation to Gearbox's system. Thoughts? JTS

  • Maybe. I redeemed my fair share of shift codes during my tenure in BL2. And I think that a similar system would be GREAT, however I do not know how it would be implemented, and the 25 codes seem unlikely as they were released pre-game.

  • I guess what I'm saying is that they may have a mechanism in place already. 25 codes is nothing compared to the literally hundreds of shift codes that Gearbox put out there. And they may not have to innovate on BL2's system. Bungie could easily just put something in place identical to it and call it "The Enigma Codex" system or some garbage like that. JTS
