I played Myst a quite a bit when I was a lot younger, I also played like an hour of Riven.
I'm considering getting Riven on Steam, but I've heard the game is ridiculously difficult.
If I get stuck is there a website I could use that would provide me with hints without giving a complete walkthrough?
So yeah in this thread discuss anything related to Myst or its sequel Riven

If you ever get stuck or want a hint, drop me a line. Also, are you aware that Cyan is making a new game: Obduction?

Edited by Ttasmmv: 5/4/2014 7:54:03 AMI played both when I was 10 or so. Unfortunately I wasn't smart enough to progress very far into either . . . the graphics kept me entertained though. :) Recently I've been thinking of buying Myst and Riven from Steam too. What a coincidence! I want to go back and play the games that stumped my child brain. :) There's plenty of walkthroughs and hints/tips for these games on the internet. You won't get stuck.

Never played it, but I watched my dad play it when I was like 5-6. Some of the ambiance in that game creeped me out so much!

You should totally buy riven. (And uru) Both are great games, EXTREMELY difficult, but rewarding when you complete it.

I don't play Riven, I prefer Shyvana or Renekton.

Edited by Phoenix1710: 5/3/2014 5:29:40 AMPlayed both, but I really loved Riven simply because of how in depth you had to go to figure things out. You literally had to learn the local's alphabet and number system to figure out some of the later puzzles and to do that you had discover and inspect a seemly unimportant school hidden below the village. What other games do that nowadays? I remember keeping a journal with me and righting down every single little detail I found while playing. Not to mention this was back in the day before the internet was popular so you couldn't cheat by looking up guides. You had to figure out everything yourself. >:D

I'd like to go back and play Myst now that I'm old enough to actually know what the hell to do. I was so enthralled but I was completely clueless on how to solve the puzzles.

It wasn't liked by the 3DS community then again I'm not suprised people want action not a game that's slow paced and has puzzles

No. :(
