For those who don't know- Hitscan : A type of damage hit registration used in games where there is absolutely no travel time, or path alteration of the virtual bullet. *Think of the Halo sniper.* Ballistic Style : Different than Hitscan because bullets possess semi-realistic properties, in that they travel at a certain speed, drop due to gravity, and ultimately require a different play style to hit targets.*Think of the Battlefield sniper* Obviously weapons like rocket or grenade launchers need to be ballistic style, on the other hand laser type weapons are normally Hitscan, but when it comes to primary weapons like auto rifles, shotguns, snipers, and LMGs, which style of hit detection would you prefer in Destiny? Cheers!

 • I can't stand Hitscan. Halo CE and Halo 3 ran projectiles and in LAN play it proved to raise the skill gap significantly, online Halo 2's dated 2004 netcode caused the trigger pull, and the projectile hit detection that caused a feign bullet travel that worked VERY WELL for online play, while in Halo 3 the poor netcode caused too many inconsistencies with bullet travel. Halo Reach and 4 went back to hitscan, but a key difference is that netcode since 2010 released games has improved so drastically that it is actually DETRIMENTAL to the gameplay by having such a primate-level skill gap in gun-play. With modern netcode advancements and hopefully dedicated servers, Ballistic is the way to go. It gives players with skill and who dedicate time to practice a clearly rewarded advantage over unskilled and novice players. That said the projectile speed shouldn't be quite as slow as it was in Halo 3, bullets in that game took about as long to reach their destination as a paintball. Just enough for shot leading to be important, but not enough to lose the consistency and powerful feel of weapons is the way to go.
