Comic book logic is irrelevant. If Master Chief is in a comic book and has to save a puppy from falling off a cliff, then every super hero in the universe couldn't stop him.

Then game and book logic are irrelevant. What's the point of debating this if we say the source material is irrelevant. You just don't like the fact that if the two were in prison, John would be the one choosing jelly in Steve's cell.

Because it's almost at Godzilla-tier levels of inconsistent and ludicrous. We are also comparing a, what 70 year old character? To a 13 year old character. Again, Cap's had more time to be fleshed out with his abilities and learn new things, as well as become silly when comic book writers start running out of ideas and pull things out of their hat that might make no sense at all when you look at it. When Master Chief turns into the God Emperor of Mankind or some weird shit, then this could be a fair comparison taking into account all the Captain America media.

When the fight is decided based on things that don't add up, yes it's dumb. Again, Master Chief might need to save a puppy that's on the other side of Captain America, therefore he would win.
