Hey future guardians, so a thought just struck me when thinking of the beta. Will the character, the loot, and the experience we make and gain in the beta transfer to the actual Destiny game? Pls post answers, opinions, and hopes.
P.s can't frickin wait for the beta and game. I'll be an Awoken Warlock. What will you be.
Shout out to fellow Warlocks!!

Yes Well, I got to keep my beta legendaries and exotics
-
I'm not sure our characters will transfer, but maybe we'll get some cool bonus's, hopefully some xp boosts for release. Or a shiny set of guns, I like shiny guns.
-
Nope everything resets to put everyone at the same starting spot.
-
Because the game will be in pre-Alpha state come Beta, that would naturally imply that the game will be refined further after the beta. Therefore, not all data would be able to carry from the beta, considering, technically, that it is a different game.

Edited by kumacyin: 3/27/2014 5:11:32 PMTheres gunna b a massive all servers event at the end of the beta phase. For some reason everyone dies and the Last City is destroyed, mankind is no more and earth is taken over by the aliens. Then there'll b a scene where u can see the Traveler leaving and heading for another planet. Thats how Destiny begins. Edit: so yea ur gunna lose everything

No progress will be carried over to the release, confirmed. Knowing Bungie, a little in game badge or icon or something will be given to the beta players. And thank you for the shout out. :)
-
No, why would it?
-
Bungie stated in a weekly update that if you played the beta, that the world will know about it. And this leaves me to believe we will receive a beta reward, so no progress. It's actually better this way if you think about it.
-
It depends, it's all up to the creators. Some game betas are just the multiplayer team death match type thing. But if they do the story type thing they either do something that won't be in the actual game or they will have something from the story which if that case I think they would.
-
It's a beta. Not only does Bungie get the opportunity to test servers and make tweaks, we get the chance to make mistakes, take risks, and explore a new frontier. We can try out all the classes and such, find what's a perfect fit for us, then plan for September. Who cares if we lose progress? I want to start fresh, so everything's new when I get my hands on my copy. I don't want to progress, then forget what was happening over the course of 3 months and pick things up again.
-
Unconfirmed but doubtful... it is confirmed that beta testers will get something though
-
I doubt it very much - best we can hope for I'd imagine would be a cosmetic "played the beta" 'reward' for our Guardians in the actual game and or for our GT Avatars. I'm really hoping the beta will, as seems indicated by "We're treating the beta like a full product launch", include a good sample of alll the game modes - even if only in one area.
-
Most likely we will not. If we did, everyone who played the beta will have a massive advantage right out of the gate, which is not fair to everyone else. But regardless, I will be playing a male Exo Titan in both the beta and the full game. See you starside, fellow Guardians!
-
It will not carry over
-
No....otherwise it would not be fun....it's not like your going to get anything worth keeping. You'll probably get to the lower section of levels before the beta ends....I take that back because knowing the gaming world there is going to be some kid who hits the max level in three days because he hasn't shit or eaten and has pissed his pants to achieve the title Of biggest douche in the world so I take back my previous argument However the joke is on him when he has to do it all over again and therefore ruin his experience as he needed a shining moment in his life because said life is miserable to begin with.
-
I think not just think,Its beta there will be ways of getting exotic gear my some glitches and stuff like that,so on 9.9.2014 you would have exptic weapons superior armor, bigger level :P...
-
I would think no. So everyone starts off equal. But maybe u get a skin or patch to wear too say you did the beta that would be sweet.
-
Sorry brother, all progress lost at full release
-
Its going to be reset
-
If Bungie follow their normal pattern then everything will be reset for Launch. Which is perfectly fair IMO.
-
For the last time, I think I've said we won't be able to about every day now, so yes we won't keep our crap it's unfair
-
I should imagine you have two hopes of that happening. The Beta will be a great experience, but I do expect the odd crash and takedown of servers as I doubt they will have stress tested to the level of the beta prior to the event. For those that PvP It'll be worth it for the experience in playing the game and the edge that will give over those who have not played the beta. For PvE it'll give a boost in terms of knowing what coming and building you character stats to suit your playing style. Plus of course will give you a chance to get to know other players before launch. I for one will be using the Beta to play test all the different classes to see which actually suits as my current choice, which is the same as yours may not be the one I'm most suited to (think sociopath who like big explosions and that's about my gaming style)
-
Well I wouldn't expect you to be able to this. Maybe something to say that you were in Beta and maybe nothing more. Because you gotta think of the few who don't participate in beta they'll be going in powerless compared to dudes who grinded the whole beta.
-
I kinda hope we do, but I also kinda hope we don't. I like the idea that I won't have to start again from scratch if I get quite far, but at the same time it would be good to learn from any mistakes I might make in the beta. It's a tough one! P.s. I think I will either be a female awoken hunter, or a male human Titan...... Not sure yet!
-
I highly doubt it. We might get some gear (as in like a camo or extra glimmer when starting for your first time ext).
