The research was published by Erez Ben-Yosef and Lidar Sapir-Hen, archaeologists from Tel Aviv University in Israel. They believe camels were not domesticated in the eastern Mediterranean until the 10th century B.C.
While there are conflicting theories about when the Bible was composed, the recent research suggests it was written much later than the events it describes. This supports earlier studies that have challenged the Bible's veracity as a historic document.

So uh yea, wahtcha got now theists?

The Bible also says their was a land bridge between the Arabic nations and Australia and we have found no evidence of this.

That embarrassing moment when you forget if fiction was real or not. Shit... Give me a moment.

22 That night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two female servants and his eleven sons and crossed the ford of the Jabbok. 23 After he had sent them across the stream, he sent over all his possessions. 24 So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. 25 When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. 26 Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.” But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” 27 The man asked him, “What is your name?” “Jacob,” he answered. 28 Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel,[a] because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.” 29 Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.” But he replied, “Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there. 30 So Jacob called the place Peniel,[b] saying, “It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared.” 31 The sun rose above him as he passed Peniel,[c] and he was limping because of his hip. 32 Therefore to this day the Israelites do not eat the tendon attached to the socket of the hip, because the socket of Jacob’s hip was touched near the tendon. Genesis 32:22- 32. Wut.

The bible should be placed at a bookstore within the fiction section of fantasy.

Dunno why people just can't take meaning from the bible being the lessons/teachings told in them, and leave all the religious garbage out of arguments.
-
I really don't understand why people try discredit religion with scientific findings. Religion is based on faith. A little rock with bones in it, or whatever else it may be, won't make a religious person suddenly abandon their faith...

I never thought the bible stories were supposed to be taken literally...I thought they were fables to teach a moral lesson in a form of a story.

Why do you need to 'prove' Christianity wrong? Life isn't about being one-up on somebody else; just don't believe in it and get on with your day, jeez.

Edited by HurtfulTurkey: 2/13/2014 2:31:32 PMHow can the bible be real if our eyes aren't real?

Not to be that guy, but all theists don't believe in the Old Testament. Be more specific in your word choice. Its Jews, Christians and Muslims.

Sauce? Plus, what does carbon dating have anything to do with domestication?
-
Bible is metaphorical. It seems like atheists have massive egos.
This is a bad thread and you should feel bad.
Wrong. Try harder. Vikings have been domesticating animals for millenia.
