Foul language is one of the many things that ruins the gaming experience and until now, nobody could really do much to regulate in-game chat. But with the xbox one and the playstation 4's voice recognition technology, bad language can be detected and met with a penalty as demonstrated in this video..
In Destiny, players should be kicked from the game every time they swear and put on a 5 minute time out box in which they would be unable to join any matches. The penalty will double every time they break it:
1st foul: 5 minutes
2nd foul: 10 minutes
3rd foul: 20 minutes.
4th foul: 40 minutes
5th foul: 80 minutes and so on.
This would be a great deterrent for foul language. And the best part? If you want to swear, then don't use the microphone or the kinect.
EDIT: Apparently there is some misunderstanding about freedom of speech. The first amendment says that government cannot regulate free speech. This amendment does NOT apply to corporate services such as xbox live and PSN. If they want to crack down on profanity, they have every right to do so. In fact, both Microsoft and Sony are removing streams that have excessive profanity. Food for thought.
Second EDIT: A few people have brought up the fact that the ESRB does not regulate online interactions. This is quite irrelevant, as they are only responsible for reviewing the game content. That would be like somebody saying the FDA does not regulate electrical installations as an argument against electrical safety. It is completely irrelevant.

Oh good times

I remember this post

Your not piglets!

I seriously do agree that constant foul language is a problem for me I don't think just banning people for it is the answer. Thats why I made friends with folks that don't swear profusely. It's a slippery slope. After the ban people for swearing then the PC police will start banning people for "insensitive" speech. Also I see you tagged it as satire. Not sure if I buy that.

I didn't know how much I'd miss you Longface... You never know how good something is until it's gone, huh?

Lame satire is lame...

I'd love to see people who spam their crouch button to bagtag or whatever people get a temp ban.. If you press it more then twice within 10sec bam.. Temp ban from PvP..

If it fits the game rating I'm all for it.

Edited by Racho: 11/7/2015 12:22:37 AMPeople don't know how to read tags smh.. Either way though, haven't seen you in awhile. I see you're back with your incessant trolling. EDIT: Just noticed it's a necrobump, but I'm pretty sure I saw you in the comments lel

Is this guy serio....ah satire tag, you nearly alluded me
-
Probably shouldn't apply to party chat, but makes sense for in game chat.
-
Rated M for your dumb
-
I'm all for reducing insults/offensive language being directed at people but gaming has never been nor will it ever be a no swearing zone.
-
-blam!-!
-
See, sending someone a message filled with insults and swears should be cracked down on. But swearing about things to friends in messages or party chat shouldn't be punished. How would they find the difference between friendly cursing and not friendly ones without just reporting them?
-
Now this would suck
-
I don't mind swearing, don't like hostility but swearing is good.
-
Longface! Ahh, memories...
-
Sit your Puritan ass down and shut up. Why on Earth do people concern them selves with what others do. If you don't like profanity don't use it, you or no person can regulate my speech.

Blaming blam this is blaming brilliant!
