Awesome. I bet you're really proud to see your work functioning properly, after what I assume were many hurdles.

  • It's one of the reasons I chose to major in Computer Science, creation feels really freaking good. I can't rest easy yet, there's still a bit of work that needs to be done and bugs to crush. For example, in the picture the game plays nicely with 7 clients connected, this game is only supposed to accommodate 7 players so any other clients that connect (up to a total max of 35) are supposed to be able to spectate the game. However, when I try to connect the 8th client to see if he'll specate, my server sends him strike messages with error codes that signify that he is trying to make plays when he's not supposed to be playing, which is problematic because that shouldn't be happening. It will be the next thing I tackle tomorrow :)

  • I'm getting in to it as well, though I'm kind of dragging my feet on the whole college thing. I'm just self teaching at the moment. I guess the work is never done, even if something works there's always a way to make it better :p What languages do you use in your class?

  • We could use any language we wanted to implement the Networking Protocol, so long as it was able to run on the Unix machines we have in our Networking Lab. I used Python because I knew I wanted to do the Client GUI extra credit (which was a ton of extra work but totally worth it), and I've had experience programming GUI's with Pygame before.
