I think it's a pretty dumb topic to write on for the class.
You should write about something more relevant to the course or prompt.
Air-soft is a fairly simple thing that does not require much thought.

Edited by Vicex: 12/8/2013 7:09:25 AMStill, write about something that requires thought. Anyone reading an essay about airsoft would likely think that you see the essay as a joke. Instead, choose a world issue. Such as experimental technology (like a way to improve life span of infrastructure). Assuming you are still a high school student, the "solution" to the problem need not be accurate to the letter, but it should have some evidence as support and give plausible solution(s) to the problem.

The thing is, that's a pretty big "engineering project". The prompt calls for a small one. Still trying to think of small ones that aren't already, well, done. E.g. solar ovens, solar chargers, water powered generators, etc. Those are all energy based projects, but you get my point. Small engineering projects that have a real affect on the world are already used

I am speaking of a small project, you test these things in "labs" before making massive projects. You need to think outside the box and something that is relevant to more than just children.
