Well, I DID create a Sci Fi universe in my head that been in continual development for soon to be 6 YEARS NOW. Honestly, it's the setting I'm honestly having a hard time choosing, with about 200,000 years of human history in all this, I could pick from some of which include.... - 2030s to 2040s, Global economic collapse, a bitter and broken US overthrown and rejuvenated, fall of oil - World War of 2051 to 2053, US and Russia become bros, China grabbing all the oil it can get, UN intervenes against both sides to keep the peace, evacuating millions of Chinese to spare them from nuclear attack - 2070s to 2099 Massive Global war, UN becomes attempt at Global Government and goes completely wrong, crazy Japanese cult leader steals nukes (somehow) and a race to get the first interstellar craft ready to launch, rise of Africa. - 2100 to 2200, US and Russia make their way to the stars without their fellow human brethren, First human contact with another intelligent race, friendship and the formation of an interstellar alliance and discovery of of eternal frontier. - 2500 to 3000, Echoes of a long lost time in human history, Humanity and its interstellar allies fight Human forces born from the ashes of defeat long ago on earth.
