Sounds decent OP, but I do disagree with one of your examples: "big anime fan" and "watching or reading obscure foreign media then bragging about it" As an anime fan going onto the internet, I didn't feel like a huge part of my individuality was removed, quite the opposite. I was happy and enthusiastic to see such a good number of people on the internet that like anime. I don't really brag about watching it, but I do like to encourage others to watch what I consider excellent.
