I don't know why people have a problem with these rifles, or believe that banning any inanimate object will fix a problem.
The same rifles are in the hands of civilians in Canada, Germany, Switzerland, etc, and none of those places have the issues people are complaining about in the United states. If it were simply a matter of these firearms being legal, then these same problems would exist in these other places.

I do know why. Irrational fear of guns.

Is that yours? Looks dang purty.

Yes, it's mine, and thanks. It's a Sig Sauer 516.

>sig is it based German SIG or crappy US factory SIG?

Edited by Emacs: 10/6/2013 7:38:51 AMIt's Ameri-sig (should be able to tell by the magpul furniture). The American made ones are $1700 CAD (cheapest), the German made ones are $2700 CAD. I can't justify the price difference, and at $2700 I'd rather buy a Noveske, or LMT, hell even an HK. I do however appreciate the difference of German Sig Sauer, not to be confused with the legendary Swiss SIG (now Swiss Arms), although SIG did create Sig Sauer to sell to the global market (it's a very complicated history).

>$2700 well, look on the bright side: at least you don't have full retard import restrictions preventing things like SKS and SVT-40 being imported.

It seems to be well made, I'm happy with it.
