Imagine this: your guardian is taking a stroll on the tower terrace, shopping for armor mods, and generally being at ease. Suddenly a HUD alert appears, and a near by PA screen shows a mo-cap city official announcing that a pre-collapse ship had just bypassed the Traveler's shields and crash landed in a residential area near the outer wall. The official orders all available guardians to investigate and help with search and rescue. You hop into a rapid transit pod and arrive on site moments later. Rather than a disaster site, what you find is more akin to a battleground: the ship (seen as a smoldering behemoth in the background) was actually one of the derelict ships from Saturn, commandeered by the hive for use as a shock pod. Hive drones are everywhere, massacring civilians and fighting security droids/mechs/bots/whatever-you-want-to-call-em. It is up to you and the other players to contain the situation and stop the hive from gaining a foot hold in the city.
Could this be an example of a public event? Will we ever have to defend the city directly? Will urban combat be at all present? I think this would be an excellent sort of major event type thing, the like of which would only occur once ore twice a year, and take days to compleat as a community.

I would like that very much. It would also be cool if on an uncommon basis, normal safe areas would be invaded by the enemy in a public event like described above, and formidable enemies would appear. If they could balance the difficulty so that around 50% of the time you will either repel them, or get rocked, it would add a palpable sense of fear in the back of your mind whenever you're in a "safe" area. They could also make it so that people in the safe area can "flee" the attack, while those who want to stay and fight can buy them time, at great risk to themselves.
