Sword Art Online, and the questions it brings up.

I have spent the last two days like watching all 25 episodes of SAO. Holy -blam!-, it was one of the most surreal and emotional experiences I have ever had. The last few episodes of the show had left me speechless, making me want more, and even now, I yearn to follow Kirito through his journey in New Aincrad. I have never felt so attached to a character than I did with Kirito. The show, at least for me, makes you feel like his struggles are your own. If you have not seen this anime, go and see this anime, it is incredible. I am being honest with you, I cried more during the 25 episodes of SAO than the rest of the year combined. That being said, it brings about two questions, one much easier to answer than the other. I will put the questions in spoiler boxes, because they contain information from late episodes. If you have watched up to 20, you should be good. This is the easier of the two questions.
First off, if you had to choose between the two worlds, ALfheim Online or Aincrad, which would you chose? I would honestly choose Aincrad. I hate being a magic user in games, and it seems that is necessary to survive in ALO, where as sword skills are very interesting. Also the environments in SAO are so different from each other, where as in ALO they are all pretty generic, with very little variation. Lastly, communication seems very important and personal in SAO, where as in ALO, it gave me that Planetside 2 feel, where what you are doing ultimately affects everyone, but you have no real connection to your race.
Do not click this unless you have seen all the episodes
If you had the opportunity to be one of the 10,000 SAO players, knowing what you know would you take it? Take into consideration that this includes being trapped in the game and death in the game equaling death in real life. I can say I would. My reasoning behind it is this. There are many people in life, who do nothing of significance. This isn't meant to be rude, it is just something I see as true. We have gas station workers, video store clerks, prostitutes, etc. To these people, life is mundane. Would you not trade that in for something as visceral and exciting as SAO. instead of living your life so boringly, with people walking all over you, you could become a hero, in a fantastic world. Or a fisherman. Or anything. Would you not trade the world you live in for that one in instance. Trade a world where everything you do is worthless for a place where you could do something that mattered in the realm of that world. If you did, would you ever try to return? You saw what it did to Kirito. The kid went insane, and he still cannot abandon the world, even though he has left. I would love to hear what you guys think.
Also if you are still watching the anime, tell me what you think, and ask any questions that you are confused about. Thanks for reading!
