DMR can one shot an unshielded person.
The Assault Rifle which uses the same rounds takes half the clip in order to kill an unshielded person in the face.

I just now realised the AR and every other weapon like it may not fire the bullets as powerfully. I dunno how guns work.

Since they are both using the same rounds each gun would be doing the same amount of damage. The only thing the gun would do is control how accurate you are. Since the DMR is a marksman rifle it would be built to have better accuracy than the AR.

I knew that Reach's pistol and DMR fired the same round. Where does it say that about the H4 AR and DMR?

FMJ = Full Metal Jacket AP = Armor Piercing / Anti-Personnel (Depending on the context). 7.62 x 51 mm is just the size of the round.

Okay. One of the things that put me off player customisation in CoD4's MP was not being able to remember weapon names because they were just letters and numbers.

Yea, it hard to get passed that seeing as there is the: Ak47 M4a1 G36c M21 R700 M40a5 Mp5 Ak74u Etc. Firearms are confusing...

They really arent when you know what your doing and not just trying to remember them from a game.
