I respect your effort in creating this topic. I do not respect Microsoft after being wishy-washy and changing their DRM stance. I was fine with it. I am glad people can play their games offline because they live in areas that don't provide proper connection. I just don't like when people or companies all of sudden change their stance. I prefer a stick to your guns approach. Wishy-washy people are the worst.

  • Alright, let's pretend you're in charge of Xbox for a little while. You keep the DRM implemented, despite the vast amount of negative feedback to it. Not just from forum posts, but also major gaming publishers such as IGN, Kotaku, etc. You see polls online from a huge retailer (Amazon, GameStop) showing the xbone is so far behind your major competitor that, unless you do something drastic and get rid of something near universally disliked, you are not going to sell well at all, and your console will be a bigger flop than Nintendo's Virtual Boy. You decide to ignore this, the sales figures for your console are looking worse and worse, but you keep thinking "at least I didn't change my mind." Release Day/Week comes around and very few people buysyour console. Months there hasn't been a new sale at all after release week. You are now out of a job, and no companies are willing to hire you because of how much money you caused your last company to lose millions of dollars.

  • I am not in that position. It doesn't matter to me. I do not hate MS. I just find their switch less respectable. Flip flopping is annoying. I understand why they did it, but again, it does not matter to me. It is my opinion. I am not saying they suck or that people shouldn't buy the X1. So relax.

  • Look, i'm not fan of the xbone, but it would've been insane if they didn't change. I'll admit, if they kept the drm, it would've been popcorn time come November. I think flip flopping is ok when it makes logical sense. The only thing i find annoying about it all is that they put themselves in that position in the first place. I don't have any less respect for them. I was pretty much done with them when they "detailed" the drm stuff.

  • I just think that when people flip flop they become wishy-washy and some may see it as being weaker or revealing a chink in the armor. While DRM is a chink for many, I guess they're happy that MS changed, and addressed the issue. We'll see. I am going to enjoy both consoles either way.

  • When you switch based on something that can quite literally make or break your entire console, thn yeah, switch. Especially from how badly it would have turned out if they didn't. And you know what happens when people don't change something that's a horrible idea? We get the Star Wars prequels and Jar Jar Binks.
