Yes! I would definitely accept this major public event alert or notification. Just imagine all the guardians available in that area meet up and plan an assault to drive back the hive and presumably the fallen. It would just be an time of excitement and this type of large scale community stuff would definitely attract and make the game destiny addictive. I hope bungie do make this idea and put it into the game or anything close however they would have to restrict the amount of players or do it on several severs or it would be crowded and no fun at all. This is the type of immersive multiplayer action I am wishing and expecting from bungie to use in destiny? Bungie could also develop and make changes to this type of event over the 10 years they said they would keep on adding after destiny's release. It just can't wait for this game it is gonna be soooooo good.

"all the guardians available in that area meet up and plan an assault" What is this "planning" you speak of?

would be awesome, and i agree with the limitations, but on the flip side what if you really wanted to participate in this event, but it was always full due to player size limitations? That would kinda suck and may turn some people off to the public events all together. Bungie will need to do something to manage this, i.e the server ideas mentioned, or something similar.

Ur I agree that was the point I was trying to make but you just but put the cherry in top!

Aha chrs but the guy who made the thread gave me inspiration ;)
-
This would be great I hope that is what Bungie has in store.
-
Nice, I hope they put it in.

They may not even need to split it up between servers. Who knows how large the city really is. Maybe there could be hundreds of sections that are being attacked and certain players are split between them
-
Was wondering is this on P2P server, and we have no dedicated server right now.
-
There could possibly be tens to hundreds of thousands of people online at one time, they would DEFINITELY need to still matchmake. However, what if they could reassign servers during the event to small areas of the city? Then I think you could still have dozens of fire teams in the battle. That would be sick
-
Yes but you do run the risk of it being over crowed. We will just have to wait and see how big the city is and if bungie do have the same idea as us, how they develop to make it fun for all who participate.
-
Yes. That would be flippin' awesome.

Aha true that my fellow guardian.
