Revolvers
Let's face it, revolvers are cool. In fiction, revolvers are often shown to be better than any other handgun. If a character is The Gunslinger, chances are it's a revolver he'll be slingin'.
In Westerns, cowboys and outlaws are seen with revolvers. This was because revolvers were the only repeating handguns at that time in history, not because of any cool factor. But that didn't stop them from being cool anyway.
And now, thanks to bungie, the revolver looks more awesome than ever before.
Come release day, I'l be taking down all manner extraterrestrial hostiles with my trusty six-shot. Who's with me?

Shotgun, revolvers....all my Titan needs is a Cowboy Hat and I'd be Destiny's John Wayne. Hunters can be Clint Eastwood.

17 RepliesThe problems with a revolver, although they can't jam useless literally trying to make it jam is , severely outweigh the advantage.revolvers are slow firing guns and are inaccurate when fired at speed. They can inflict injury if not fired correctly , They lack decent accuracy, and most important they are simply not combat effective. Most revolvers had been replaced for field use by v mag style pistols like a p2226 sig a glock or a kimber m1911. The reasoning for this is that they are more accurate easier to conceal easier to shoot and they are generally cheaper--you can get a glock 17 or 19 for like 500 to 600 if you know where to look. Personally nothing beats my p226 x-five and I have been shooting since I was a child. Revolvers are kind of like the h1 hummer of the gun world cool, intimidating, but not a realistic or viable choice. There is a reason special forces and Feds use digs and glocks because they are battle proven. At most you'll use a revolver as an ankle conceal and a last resort when all else fails. And lastly the v mag fed pistols such as the sigs have created pistols which use the .357 round and can carry more of them--this is what secret service uses. In the future we will see more sidearms similar to this not a revolver. It's a dying breed

While the Space Revolvers of Destiny seem to be a quick access to all things bad assery, I still dont think Destiny should be without some ordinary Hand Guns that are NOT revolvers. I mean, I am kinda hoping on an Automatic or Burst Fire Pistol. I mean come on, a Slide action Auto Pistol with extended mag with tracer rounds just sounds like it would be 100% bad ass.

2 RepliesRevolvers make you character feel more involved with the weapon your not just slapping a cold piece of steal into a mag slot your feeding new life into the cylinder of your trust partner. And judging by the look of the duke.44 they used in the demo it's safe to say that what your feeding your partners is nothing short of death and destruction. Come gameday ill have my rifle, ill have my magic but when I have my revolver GTFO my way.

I am putting all my money on revolvers being ingame and I will have one at least for my hunter. Going full out western-esque style , sort of inspired by the "No name" characters of Clint Eastwood.

I hope they have something similar in design to the 1911a1 because IMO it's the best hand gun ever made. Plus with revolvers you don't get the sweet sensation that comes with a TRB.

I never understood the fascination with revolvers. Severely reduced ammunition capacity over a modern pistol and more recoil. Not only that, but by just looking at your gun your opponent would know the absolute maximum number of shots you have (in a real situation).

Having a revolver is badass at first but after a while reloading every 6-8 shots is a pain plus they arnt reliable in my experience

Wasn't the revolver hand cannon from the demo a 7 shot? Hmm. Revolvers are fine, but I'm hoping not all pistol weapons are revolvers. I like borderlands mix of semi auto, auto, and hand cannon.
