What about the Eye and Kinect? There is a lot of pushback about the Kinect being required. I'm not sure I share this concern. Why not require it? How else do you ensure developers actually use this extremely interesting technology? It's only irritating because as an optional add-on, it leads to annoying gimmick functions. A developer cannot afford to put to much into it at the risk if alienating too many gamers that chose not to opt in. Even though I still prefer a controller, I for one would like to see something come of this.
Thank you! Someone else that realizes that the Kinect itself isn't crap. It's an amazing piece of tech that I want to see used correctly by developers. If everyone has a Kinect, there is much more incentive to use the Kinect well, without making it the central focus of the game.

I'd love to have to use it. In the right way if course. I can't even imagine what that would look like. Neither can you because no one is wasting their resources until they have a more stable audience.

Edited by Obsric: 6/13/2013 6:35:36 PMA developer (or perhaps Microsoft employee?) talked about kinect being able to read your 'mood' through how much concentration you were displaying and approximate heart rate. They talked about the possibility of a system where gameplay moments changed depending on your level of engagement. Think about this in terms of a horror game, the affect it could have on something like Slenderman..!

I know. It's fascinating potentially.
