I'm hoping a bounty system will help with this. Say, everyone starts off with a bounty of 0 and you can put a bounty on anyone you see. But there would be a limit, you can only increase the bounty a tiny bit, and once that bounty gets up high enough, that player will be flagged as free to kill, and whomever kills this person will get the money. And maybe a bounty board can be put up somewhere with lists of bounties you can collect.

Thats a neat idea, though destiny having its own reputation system would be nice too, so when you come across someone like that you can simply report them, and if enough people do, they get banned for atleast a couple hours or a whole day. though this has its own flaws.

This was actually possible in the MMO Star Wars Galaxies. I used to be a carbineer Bounty hunter and I could go to the terminal and select other players who were jedi and have access to kill them without them agreeing to the fight. I would stalk them in cantinas. They'd be sitting down maybe getting a dancing buff and I'd just chill talking to him and he had no idea all I had to do was start hitting attack and he'd be floored. It was a lot of fun but I don't see that in this game.

You can't enable pvp on that person alone, cos they'll go around killing everyone, and you can't only enable it on the person who shoots you first, because if they've shot you first, you're already done for. There has to be a REASON to put a bounty on someone. Being able to put bounties on any person you want, at any time, however small, is stupid. Ditch bounties. Get a report button like every other game.

The exploiting and griefing will be GTA: Online bounty boosting and trolling all over again. *Scenario* I go to the Tower and see someone with a gamer tag that I don't like. Blam! They get a bounty on them. Why? Because I don't like their GT and I because I can. And besides, you can't kill players outside of Crucible. So.....?

Look at the date on the comment, we had little to no info on crucible other than PVP would exist. And also if you read it I said a bounty placement would be in very small increments.

Sadly this will be abused as peeps will see this as free xp or money. I do like the Bounty system, but rather have it where you cant play the game for a selected amount of time. Like 2 hours account ban, and move on up to a day or two max. When you reach a day ban, Bungie reps will contact you to find out whats going on. Don't think a permanent ban is right as well, they did pay for the game as well.

Couldn't agree more. I had someone follow me round and just melee me over and over again in the explore mission. Why some people need to do this I have no idea. Had to use my speeder to get away from them. A system to mark people would be great.

Sounds good, until you run into people that abuse said system. Lets say one guy is being a dick on purpose to collect bounty, then he let his friend kill him so that the friend gets the reward that they then can split. The result: You just created a system that REWARDS the behavior you want to combat.

Nothing can be traded between characters in Destiny, only shared by characters on the same account.

In the event that the game is not a fully open world, the only way to collect on this bounty would be in the public event areas, which that person can avoid. Thus, the only time you would see them is in PVP or in town, and I would presume in-town kills simply wouldn't be permitted. And the pvp option really doesn't mean much, since they're there to kill and be killed.
