These are all but confirmed to be the Glimmer's ships. The style of that enemy and these ships are completely different; there's no way that this is the Glimmer. The best theory about what the Glimmer actually are is that they are a phantom-like race, who control other races to use as soldiers. Take a look at this image. The Cabal and Fallen in it have a strange blue mist covering them, they are carrying no weapons, walking together, and each glowing the same colour of blue. This blue-green colour is similar to the beams which are coming out of the ships above. The glimmer is the yellow column, as you can see by their triangular ships. Notice the other two things in this concept art? A strange, ghost-like figure, and a cloud of mist; the same mist we see in the previous image. As for what I think this race is? I say Cabal because of it's large structure, but it very well could be the Hive too.

 • Glimmer is the in game currency not an enemy race.

 •
Thorn is the name of a pistol in Destiny. It has been described as an onyx-colored, spiked "hand cannon" that glows when primed. Thorn is the reward for completing a mission at Charlemagne's Vault... ''I find a rare hand cannon that looks like it was carved from the dark heart of one of the Cracked Moons of Saturn.''
This is just my speculation, obviously, of what relates to the pyramid ships. The Fallen have been described to inhabit every planet and moon we touch, or something of the sort. We know the Cabal have strong influences on Mars, but could it be possible that they have established their domains in other reaches of our solar system? The concept art that pictures the black pyramides seems odd to me. Smoke/gases surround the ship in what seems to be outside of any atmosphere, seeing as they are quite far from whatever planet or moon that is (I am not exactly familiar with this topic). What are the ships' beams targeting? In the far background, clouds of some sort seem to be, in my opinion, quite far from the rock. Again, I understand that this is art, but still... Although this may not be coherent, I would like the community or Bungie (hint hint) to either elaborate on my various points or explain WHY I am wrong.

 • I know all this stuff about the Glimmer, trust me. But maybe this is what the Glimmer's original form looks like. Or maybe this is what a Cabal that's controlled by the Glimmer looks like.

 • From the looks of it the Glimmer doesn't actually change the physical appearance of it's host. Also, like I said in my last post, the concept art for the glimmer shows a ghostly figure, not this bulky-type which also stylistically doesn't match their ships. I figure I'd post all that for the people coming here who aren't aware of all this; the Glimmer option in the poll is high, which leads me to believe people don't.

 • Maybe the longer somethings controlled by the Glimmer, the more it decays? IDK. No point in debating until E3
