Well, ya know, they never said that. Like, ever. They stated many times that they'd love to develop on the PC, but it's not practical for them with their current workload.

Edited by pls dont ban me: 5/25/2013 3:24:43 PMAHEM...
We did a bunch of ambitious things on Halo deliberately to reach out to people. We limited players to two weapons, we gave them recharging health, we automatically saved and restored the game – almost heretical things to first-person shooters at the time. We made the game run without a mouse and keyboard. And now nobody plays shooters the way they used to play them before Halo ’cause nobody wants to.
Funny, because he doesn't directly say "no-one plays shooters on the PC any more". He just says no-one plays shooters the same way they used to, which, let's be honest: they don't. The original first-person shooter style of looking straight down the top of the gun with a limited FOV isn't used at all any more. Hell, just a day after that article you linked, you get this article: Bungie would love to bring Destiny to the PC. And more recently? Destiny might even be coming the PC with cross-platform saves.
