I'm looking onto buying a new headset. I haven't used one that didn't come with my xbox before, so I would appreciate some help. I looking to keep the price below $100.
The three that I'm mainly looking at are.
-Turtle Beach Earforce X12
-Tritton Detonator
-Gioteck Universal EX05 (Wired)
Which is better? If you have any other suggestions, please tell me.

As others have said, the Xbox One for sure will not be compatible with currently marketed headsets, so if you're looking to get a new console soon, you might want to wait. With that said, I own a pair of TurtleBeach X11's, probably pretty similar to the X12's. The sound is great and they're pretty comfortable. If you want to use them for game audio as well as chat, I would also recommend getting TB's digital surround sound processor. Mine came bundled with my headset and it does an excellent job of converting the stereo audio into 5.1 surround sound.

The X12s are great and fairly cheap if you don't mind cords.

I personally own the TB X12s and they're awesome.

If you plan on getting a next generation console don't get a headset yet. They won't be compatible with the PS4 and X1.

Edited by Inyaccurate: 5/24/2013 3:14:35 AMI'd wait a bit. It's been said that the next gen consoles won't work with current headsets, or at least the mics aren't compatible with the new controllers.

If you want it to work with one of the newer consoles, I suggest holding off for a bit.
