Should we let the Panda die?
The Edinburgh zoo has started to artificially inseminate the panda so they reproduce but I feel if you have to force a species to survive is it worth keeping it around?
Surely the species is doomed to go extinct if it refuses to mate. The species has already given up and we are forcing it's continuation to the point it will forever be in captivity and is now a waste of resources.
In chester zoo they managed to increase black rhino reproducing to 1 rhino a year and to me they are worth saving because they are actually mating unlike the panda.
Should their be a point that we should just stop protecting the animals near extinction? Is it our place to keep them alive at all costs?

9 RepliesKeep pandas in zoos by all means but wild pandas are one of those species that has become too specialist for it's own good and would probably have died out by now if not for human intervention. I feel trying to sustain a wild population would be fruitless. Just ordinary pandas though, red pandas are freaking awesome!
