In Russia it is May 9th which over there is a Holiday called "Victory day" it is now 68 years to the day [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_law]-godwinslaw!-[/url] Germany surrendered to Allied forces.
Victory day is celebrated with a HUGE military parade by the Russian Army. Self propelled guns, tanks, soldiers you name it and they are marching. They even use some weaponry from the time period, it is amazing to watch.
I wish the U.S. did some of these, I wouldn't mind traveling to Russia to watch this though!
So congratulations to our Russian comrades it was a glorious victory indeed!
