So how long will it take for us to achieve stuff like the NerveGear/AmuSphere?
I mean...we already have the Oculus Rift, which IS a step forward in this technology, and awhile back I remember reading an article on how somebody is making something like the NerveGear, but when do you think we (the consumers) will actually be able to use stuff like it?

Ironically, people who sink the most time into a fully VR Elder Scrolls game will be the healthiest.

FMDs are the future.
lolShitArtOnline
-
Virtual Boy though...
-
I feel the medical field and the military would get it first and that the FDA I believe their called would have problems with it ethic wise but we gamers wouldn't care as long as it was semisafe
-
Would be cool if we had something like the movie Gamer.
-
Yeah, ever since I watched SAO that's been my gaming wet dream. I'd give it a decade or two. Or three.
-
Wouldn't it not be virtual if it was real? We already have that.
-
that BRAIN program by Obama will probably get us closer, but i don't see us getting basic VR until a few years after some results from that, and then we wont see games until developers find a way to develop for VR AND VR is accessible to a good portion of the public..................and even then we still wont be getting SAO until there's a good market for it and developers have sorted out most of the kinks And even then we'll never get Brain Burst ;_;

next wednesday?
-
Meh not quickly enough. Call me when we've got holodecks.

They're already making good progress.
