This just further enforces my idea that the very worst thing about the Halo franchise over the years has been the fans. I'll make a thread on that later. You could have sold it, OP. Just snapping the disk is immature any way you look at it.

Why do so many people say this about the Halo community? Nobody has to be alright with what's happened to Halo. I think a lot of the criticism towards Halo 4 and 343 is well-deserved. In my mind, it makes you a true fan if you're willing to stand up and say that you aren't happy with where your favorite series has ended up. If someone likes the direction Halo has gone, that's fine too. However, if a person doesn't like it, but they convince themself that they like it...that pretty much makes the person a fanboy.

  • I don't know about "most people" but I myself say the worst thing about Halo has been the fans because the fans are the ones who made so many childish demands over the years. Fans are the reason why the abortion that Halo 4 is exists. Fans screamed and yelled and cried foul when they couldn't rank up as fast as they wanted to in Halo Reach, or a stupid little number next to their name wasn't visible. Fans squealed about how the Battle Rifle wasn't good enough in Halo 3 because of the bullet spread, insisting that a spawn weapon that was overpowered enough have pinpoint accuracy every time. And that was coupled with all the childish screaming for Recon armor. Bungie made a great thing with Halo, but the fans tore it down and twisted it up into a generic megafranchise with a TV show... because that's what they "wanted."

  • Is it? I think if you do it cause your pissed off then it is, but if you do it because it's been your go-to game for the past ten years and you think it's gone forever, and you want to have your own way of symbolically ending your ties to it forever? Why not?
