"Recent Activity" will be useless in time.

While perusing the forums today I saw a post that made me want to link to an old topic I made. Because it was a topic I made post Bungie.next I started looking through my "Recent Activity" in my profile and thought to myself as I clicked the "View More" button 27 times, "Wow this is a horrendous way to find a post that I made barely a month ago." I got to thinking this is only a couple of months into the new design. Many of us have been around for YEARS, imagine trying to find a post from a year and a half ago with the current system, you will be clicking for hours. This is not to say that the old style of searching for posts made by users was perfect but it was much better than it is now. The search bar now has only three filters: "Users" "Topics" or "Groups." This means you can't search for old posts by specific users, and the search for threads is only useable if you know a specific tag that was used on that thread. The old search feature had the ability to filter for posts/topics from a specific user in specific Forums. Of course the Search feature on Bungie.net has never exactly been the most useful thing in the world but the"Recent Activity" tool in your profile and the new search feature seems to be a step backwards in terms of you ability to search. PS. I want my saved threads back.

  • Saved threads and more powerful search engine. I had to look for my Story Man Who Sang To The Stars For hour and half before finding it.

    • Speaking of recent activity... If I make my profile private, all of my recent activity should be hidden. Not just the activity after I make it private. It's really pointless to give us the option of privacy if it only makes future posts private.

    • I have always defaulted to Google when I needed to find something. Usually, a search restricted to Bungie.net including my Username in quotations and then a little bit of what the post was about is enough to return the post I wanted to find. It would be nice if this were easier to do with the search feature built in to the site.

    • Oh yeah. Just bring back my darned saved threads and I'll be happy.

      • I'd like it in the future if you could search by "X Month of Year". Ex: Show me all my public posts of October in 2011.

      • I've started using my favorite bar to keep track of saved threads. As for recent activity, does that really keep track of everything?

        • So I attempted a google search trick to try to find a way to easily search old posts, and I found an old conversation with ~B.B. Now I'm sad. :(

        • But you see, that would make Bungie.net more convenient and useable, which would it make it more like the old site, which means that Bungie will most likely never re-implement a perfectly functional feature that was removed without reason.

        • I'm still hoping they introduce a "Home Page". A place where you can customize how you want to experience bungie.net, where I can view topics I created, commented upon, replied to, or liked in a similar fashion as the forum. More of like an advance form of the 'Activity' page. Also, where's the web cams?
