MGR is a pretty good game, but this is coming from someone who's never played a Metal Gear game before, and only followed Rising because of Platinum's development.
Oh god. I just remembered where I'm stuck at the moment. The bit where in Denver when [spoiler]Raiden has to fight Mistral and Monsoon again. Mistral II isn't too bad, but Monsoon was a bastard before and he's a bastard again. -blam!- him and his frustratingly long combos and his ability to dodge attacks just by dislocating his body.[/spoiler]

Im sorry but Monsoon on anything other than the highest difficulty is a pushover. Yes he has a ton of bullshit attacks but I can consistently parry every single one. Remember, EP Grenades are your best friend, use them often. Also if you think Monsoon is bad just wait until the final boss.

The only real problem I have with Monsoon is the Red phosphorous grenade. When he does it while you're in the middle of a move you need to evade fast or you're screwed.

MGS is a really good series if you don't mind extremely long cutscenes and weird plot twists. [spoiler]Really? Monsoon isn't difficult at all. Parrying him is something you get competent at eventually. And when he goes all purple and dislocates himself, use an EMP grenade or a charged Sai attack, it stuns him and lets you Zan-datsu his head.[/spoiler]

I like stories with a bit of depth. Then again, I find it hard to remember what happened in Marathon (I didn't play it), and Bayonetta is also ridiculously convoluted. [spoiler]I can parry maybe the first attack and then all parrying ability (LS + X) goes out the window because I simply do not have the time to allow the stick to return to the neutral to move it in the direction of the attack again. And why the -blam!- does he stun you in the middle of a combo? What's the point? He attacks you again before you have a chance to break out of it. Then, once you Zandatsu his head, his legs just start kicking the shit out of you. Drives me -blam!-ing mad.[/spoiler] i aint even mad tho

[spoiler]Just mash forward and X at the same time like mad and you'll have about 2 seconds before he runs around and kicks you from a different angle. Timing is everything, learn his attack patterns and eventually you'll get it. I've been trying to fight him without taking any damage, so I've pretty much got all his attack patterns memorized. Need any help with bosses let me know, I've pretty much got the game covered.[/spoiler]
