Where did you get this from?! The article just talks about it being easier for EA to follow you from platform to platform, mostly for targeted advertisements. There's no way EA would ever implement your 'example'.

Where does it say it'll be free? All I'm getting from this is that EA will have a system in place that ensures they can follow you from one platform/game to another without having to create multiple accounts, ID's, names, etc. Nowhere does it say that you basically buy the game as if it was for all platforms and you can play it on which ever you please.

I think that's what might be bothering me. With EA's history, I don't believe we'll see a day anytime soon where you buy a single game for all platforms. The actual idea behind more connected platforms is still a great one, though.
