I remember when PS1 games were new, around $30 i believe, and I felt that was high. I don't buy many games now because of the $60 tag and usually wait for them to drop in price to around $20-$30. I would not be a happy consumer, if next-gen games were $90-$100.

 • They were 30$, back in the days? I wasn't aware of that.

 • I tried to confirm it, and the best I got was this.
Pricing, unlike today, back then it wasn't consistent. Not everything was at $50 or $60, it went all over the map. PS1 titles would go from $10 to $70, and N64 games would go from $40 to $100. It was all very random and chaotic. It wasn't until last gen when everybody decided $50 was the standard price for a new game.
Whereas, this site says PS1 games were ~$40.
