Maybe the vanguard class can wield a close combat weapon like a sword or something or a shield that they carry. something like a lightsaber would be nice to i guess, or a spear with a energy knife at the end of it or something. something that really distinguishes itself from the others and i think having a melee weapon would defenlently help with that.

I mentioned in another post it would fit what they're going for in blending fantasy with future tech stuff. Anyone who played Halo would have to admit, that the energy sword and gravity hammer were pretty cool! Adding a Melee fighter would have nothing to do with the game going to MMO style play. I wouldn't blame them either, got to get a new crowd involved.
