Petitions are bad. Petitions are confrontational and not collaborative. Petitions are a way of saying "we don't think that you listen to us, so now we are going to threaten in order to make you do something that you don't want to, because WE want you to." Petitions work on politicians because politicians only care about keeping their position. Petitions are far less effective on creative artists because they don't create what other people want, they create what they want and then let people decide whether or not they personally like it or not. We used to have a "no petitions" rule and I believe that my speculation (above) was the main reason behind it. The rule no longer exists, but I still think that petitions are a crappy way to try to influence someone else to comply to your will. Especially someone who isn't being confrontational with you, but you choose to be confrontational with them.

  • I agree One Hundred Percent! However, the PC platform can really take there creative vision to its full potential. If we did petition them to do a PC release, we would be forcing them to futher develop there concept, instead of squandering it on the limited resources of Consoles. If this was a shooter more akin to Halo then the console is not a problem. However a MMO complecates things and the limited resources on consolse can bottleneck the potential of the game. ** For Example ** Load Distances, Amt of Decals Fram Rate, Players in a particular area. Loading Times. The list goes on. I am just very surprised that a company who started on Mac's, and then got in to a contract with MS to only publish for MS, would take the opportunity to branch out from consoles and include a PC version. If I'm not Mistaken, the Xbox One also runs a special version of Windows 8, so a PC port of Xbox One game should not be that taxing, (Mere Speculation though). I'm not mad at Bungie, just very disappointed. Bungie has been a company who has always taken the time to listen to there fans, customers, and critics alike. It seems this time, they dismissed part of there fan base and potential new customer fan base, with "We did a bunch of ambitious things on Halo deliberately to reach out to people. We limited players to two weapons, we gave them recharging health, we automatically saved and restored the game – almost heretical things to first- person shooters at the time. We made the game run without a mouse and keyboard. And now nobody plays shooters the way they used to play them before Halo ’cause nobody wants to.” - Jason Jones How can this man be employeed in the game Industry and be at a high enough level in Bungie to be issuing statements like this. It is Insane how ignorant Jason Jones is to a game Genre that is his company's only focus.

  • You make some good points. I had a petition all ready but didn't think it would be a polite thing to do. But what else can we do? Among others I would love to play Destiny on PC. I hope Bungie is reading and watching us the least. to consider development.

  • I can assure you that they hear. And I can't see why they wouldn't want as wide and as varied an audience/community as possible. The one core issue that has always existed for PC-v-Console is the consistency of the platform in a console -vs- the alphabet soup of variables that is the PC environment. I can only assume that remains the challenge and difficulty that it has always been.

That doesn't apply to Wii U though seeing as it is a console, any thoughts to why they might not want it on Wii U?

  • I second this. We shouldn't be demanding something from them, if they think it's a good idea and have the resources to do it they will.
