Crysis 3 Beta

I personally enjoy this game. It fixes a lot of problems that were in crysis 2 and is even more enjoyable. With unlimited sprint and jump I feel like a complete boss. They also finally got the energy right on the suit by separating stealth and armor mode. Instead of having a shared pool of energy each have a separate pool and neither are drained from sprinting or jumping. Nanovision has also been balanced by having its on energy pool, with this one can only spend a limited time (less than it was in crysis 2) using nanovision. Another big problem they fixed in crysis 3 is lag. Lag was a huge problem in crysis 2 and in crysis 3 there is significantly less lag and fewer bullshit moments. This game looks absolutely beautiful on pc, less so on xbox, but that is expected. I highly recommend everyone to check out the beta, it is truly amazing. I will be buying this game for pc when it comes out.

  • I would enjoy it so much more if it didn't freeze my Xbox. Other than that though, I really love the blunt weapons like the shield and rock-on-a-pole.

  • Crysis 3 has turned noob friendly. You hardly have to keep in mind your energy, which was a huge thing in Crysis 2. Energy usage. Should I sprint to the action and risk getting caught off guard with low energy? Should I sneak into a fight with camo and risk getting shot on low energy? Should I turn on armor before going in this room? You had all these options and conscious choices you had to make. Crysis 3 eliminates this kind of thing and turns it into hurp-durp-cawwadoody run and gun. Infinite sprint, power jumps, power actions, different meters for different things, and even blatant assist features like auto armor. Crysis 3's attempt at making the player feel more bad ass eliminates the mental bad ass side of Crysis, the need to consciously make decisions and have options in regards to what's going on. You couldn't mindlessly do something, you'd die so much. Mindless play style is much more viable in Crysis 3.

If I had a pc that could run it, I'd try it out. :(

I really want to play it, the modes especially Hunter mode sounds really fun. How long does it last or does anybody know that? Also If I have never played the campaign would it be smart to play the first to start it out? Also does the first Crysis not play on the xbox 360 It looks like? So I might have to just read up on the first game and then go with the second one atleast before I get the third one if I do.

        • I have played the beta on PC. The hunter mode is exciting and unique but the crash site mode feels like call of duty on steroids.

        • I first played it on PC, and Hunter mode was surprisingly fun. Probably the most thrilling "survival" mode I ever played. Hunter mode is somewhat what I have always wanted Halo's Zombies (flood) mode to be. It actually made me consider picking the game up eventually (before, I had no plans to do so). Out of curiosity, I tried the XBL beta...and it was atrocious . Visuals were more muddy than Crysis 2 on Xbox. Therefore, if you played the Xbox beta and turned the game off within minutes, perhaps you should try the PC version (because you might actually end up liking the game).
