Oh Yay, More Difficult Gameplay!!!

I paid a $100 dollars each season for a game I cannot play and finish. I want my money back but I bet I can't get it. I would gladly delete and never play this game again if they would give me my money back. All the new jumping crap is not necessary to make this game challenging. In fact it makes it a lot more frustrating. I can't even play and have fun anymore. Games are supposed to be fun, my real life is challenging enough. And there is very little in game direction, a person has to watch all these videos and download this companion app or another just to understand what is happening. They have made two games here, one where the everyday person(me) can play and do well with the every day same old same bounty completions and basic missions but then there is the other game where the more serious players,("most" of which play on PC) can complete what the rest of us can't. I paid for this game with the full expectation of being able to play and finish the whole game and not just what the difficulty level will let me. I am not a happy gamer and will not buy the final shape or any other thing from this game.

Sometimes it would take us weeks, but we enjoyed it so much, we'd stick at it until we'd completed it. After our gaming sessions, I would stay on for hours, doing solo stuff, because there was always a chance of getting some great loot. Even from the most mundane activites such as collecting materials or exploring the huge areas, and when luck was on your side and you got a magical drop, you felt like like all those hours of playing were worth it. And it made you want to play even more. What I enjoyed most of all though, was the fact that you had to build up your power level, get better armour and weapons, and in doing this, you and your mates could meet up again and do those harder parts of the game, more quickly, more efficiently, and with more enjoyment. All those hours of grinding really did pay off, solo and as a team. Sadly, those days have gone, and that game was called Destiny.

      • Bungie is terrible at finding the balance between a challenging, rewarding, end-game activity that will give a sense of accomplishment (note: I did NOT say easy) and a ridiculously frustrating, beat your head against a wall impossibility to the vast majority of the player base. Pantheon, Legend Onslaught and Zero Hour alienates and frustrates the VAST MAJORITY of the player base. Its not fun, and that's the second major problem. Games, at the end of the day are suppose to be fun. And constant deaths, wiping and frustration are NOT fun. Say "get-good" all you want, but if this becomes the rule for future content, there will be a mass exodus of the player-base. I have soooooo many long-time, dedicated friends and clan-mates that hate this and have left the game. Please, please for the love of God Bungie, please find a better balance between a challenging, end-game content and the very un-fun, soul-crushing, frustrating mess you are currently promoting.

      • You’re going to get a lot of Bungie employees telling you to “get gud” but it’s honestly not worth it.. Bungie lock away content you pay for behind impossible tasks - go find the percentage of people that actually play a raid - it’s crazy how low it is… Bungie should make everything accessible with difficulty levels - greater the difficulty the greater the loot… Instead they just lock you out of the content until you can stomach the company of a group of neckbeards to do it… I’m personally getting tired of it too…

          • Ultimately, I do think this boils back to the AI's competency and interaction with the sandbox. In Halo, the AI was built around the player and reacted accordingly depending on which enemies they killed, their position, etc. Destiny hasn't ever really done this, which is fine, but unfortunately we've seen things like champions and bullet sponges in more cases than not. A secondary issue i noticed is a lack of evolution in encounter design. There have been some examples like that one Harpy boss from Garden where you chased him down the corridor and I thought that was really cool, or Rhulk's duel style bossfight, but I'm not sure if there is enough variance when the vast majority of encounters are stand in one spot for DPS. It makes any possibility of difficulty changes rather impossible, besides just cranking the health pools up of course.

was fun a year ago then it slowly turned trash king . now I'm just playing the free stuff. bungie made it inflated difficulty . not fun anymore , I'm like 5x gilded conquer . so difficult is not a problem ,what is . is bungies inflated difficulty for zero reason.just makes the game trashy and not cool . the old strikes got me into this game so fun. now they trash it with nerfs and garbage guns they just nerf anyway. so it's free for me if I even play it June which I highly doubt the damage they did to this game is unfixable .

            • It's annoying that this game is becoming unnecessarily a 9ne shot simulation game. It's not getting harder it just the every thing forces players to be one shot all the time. It's not fun it It's hard It's annoying.

            • I don't mind challenging content, but if I find it impossible to defeat a mission with my most OP builds after playing this franchise for it's entire lifespan and fully understanding the mechanics and having all the best weapons and armor then it's a problem. And the fact that I've already done Zero Hour originally and already have Outbreak means I'm literally only doing it for Rapid Hit and it's extremely overbearing of Bungie to lock a single common weapon perk behind an obvious troll of the playerbase. This is why Bungie will be overtaken by Sony next year. They are just angry that the majority of the playerbase has turned on them, when the entire reason that happened is because Bungie has become lazy and entitled.

                • I think the devs sometimes confuse more difficult with more time consuming. Making players weaker while making enemies take way more damage often goes from fun to almost chore like.

I've played for years now and can confirm game is a lot more difficult. I can handle it but. can only imagine the frustration new players have when trying to get even a HERO Nightfall done.

Bud… I’ve played with PC players and I can say… all the stuff in it is for the optimization and freedom of a PC player(s). Not only that nowadays the rewards doesn’t match the difficulty investment. You would think as hard as you grind for a lot of this stuff, the weapon would slap right out of the mission… NOPE! More than likely you have to grind it to endgame levels and it’s mainly PC players that can achieve it in rapid succession. I’m not mad at them though. I need to invest in a rig to keep up.🤣

                        • You don’t have to do Zero Hour. It was crap back in the day, something you did if you were a sucker for siva weapons or Rasputin gear. And from what I hear it’s even worse in its necro version. Just don’t subject yourself to this kind of annoyance. Sometimes it feels like bungle goes out of their way to see how far they can push people to be trained lab monkeys. See if they can find the limit of their customer’s cooperation.

                          • Is movement a part of the game??? Then Bungie has a right to lean on it for difficulty. If it’s so hard that you can’t complete it, then that means you need to practice! Every bit of jumping in the game is designed so that you can complete it or bypass it with generally little effort. Did the game get harder with Lightfall - in some places yes. Legend content got significantly harder than it was. But there are tons of activities that are very new player friendly. Having a decent amount for players that want to challenge themselves is normal for most games that aren’t either Nintendo or Genshin. If it’s causing you to rage, it’s time to take a break. —- also, idk what you’re buying to jump the price up to $100 per season but I feel you got ripped off lol

I never really notice the difficulty. It all seems pretty casual to me. It may just be my 👉D1 pre alpha vet/influencer tier status🤷🏻.
