Tormentor isnt cabal.
And its part of the story of this event.

Tormentor’s are more Cabal than anything considering they were introduced during the Lightfall campaign, and the Shadow Legion is the main enemy. Tormentors are only ever seen fighting alongside Cabal due to Calus’ alliance with the Witness.

Because the tormentors are made by the witness. And lightfall was the first DLC where we battled forces of the witness. Had nothing to do with cabal.

My brother in christ, why the hell would a Tormentor be fighting alongside the Taken, which the Witness doesn’t command? The Witness does however, by extent, command the Cabal. Tormentors are special operatives that the Witness allowed Calus to have in his arsenal. There is no other enemy type in the game that should be fighting alongside a Tormentor.

The witness DOES command the taken. Since he gave that power to oryx and xivu. Which is why tormentors fight alongside all the witness forces. Taken. Fallen. Scorn. Hive. And Cabal.

How do you think they were created? Who do you think guided oryx to become the taken king? The taken are very much part of the witness army just like the legion who followed calus are. Same with xivu-araths hive.

Yeah, but I just think that’s an overlook on Bungie’s part. We literally haven’t seen a Tormentor fight alongside another enemy race besides the Cabal. Why would a Tormentor + Taken debut first take place in a public event?

They didn't debut in a public event. They debuted in the lightfall campaign.
