Sometimes, rather often, interacting with a quest NPC causes the game to glitch into a loop of endlessly repeating the quest step of talking with that NPC. This means you cannot exit their menu, or even leave the area. You have to either return to character select, or fly to another planet/location in order to get out of this, and this also sometimes prevents you from progressing the step as you have to come back to talk with them normally.
