Lore-wise, probably not so much. There are two Felwinter Warlock exotics which probably indicates he wore them simultaneously and Osiris looks like he is wearing about 3 of them if you count ornaments: Dawn Chorus/Sunbracers/Lunafaction Boots. Our canonical Guardian is powerful but technically we are more of an anomaly rather than being stronger than our NPC counterparts. Osiris couldn't account for us in his simulations, Elsie didn't have any changes to her multiverse trip until she met us, both the Emissary and Savathun hinted at our ability with the 4th wall, etc.

  • We aren’t even an anomaly anymore. The Hero in D2 is just any random Guardian. In D1 they sorta made us out to be special but D2 retconned that.

  • As I understand it (and is fairly common for MMORPG aspects) is that our player character isn't the hero and we are just experiencing their story through our eyes. The million other players also can't be the hero since that just wouldn't make sense, otherwise considering yourself to be the hero with every other player as side characters probably isn't healthy to be fair.

  • Except the first game said otherwise and as I pointed out, a veteran character is the sole Hero. It’s only when you make a D2 character that the Hero becomes interchangeable. So it’s a retcon. Not an MMO aspect. Destiny isn’t an MMO by definition. Or do you think six players in a team is “massive”??? It was changed not to try an emulate MMOs but because the storyline was retconned and the mmo stuff was filler. There was a reason we came out strong and there was a reason it was in the revival mission they explicitly stated we were such and why in TTK our Ghost said we were abnormal even physiologically.

  • Not quite. Elsie’s origin is actually the first Iteration of the primary timeline, the Dark Future lorebook only covers one of the iterations. Each loop is a new iteration. The Traveler didn’t explode, it is what resets space/time. The Gardner has been making the loops for us to find a way to stop the bad guys.

  • Wonder if they'll do anything with the dark timeline. Seems like a huge opportunity there
