Ammo finders require way too many kills when not using primaries

With special ammo sidearms we now have two special weapon types meant for ad clear, but running double special is not feasible on non-ability focused builds (those builds don't need ad-clear weapons to begin with). Because of Juggler you'll never see special bricks drop when clearing ads, so you're forced to abandon the whole Armor Charge system and only use Special Finisher. Now you can make some ammo for specials, but what about heavy, can you reliably get it between damage phases? You really can't - natural ammo drops happen once in more than a minute, ammo phases are too random to rely on them, and Ammo Finders require around 80 final blows when not using a primary. That's 80 kills to get 1 LFR ammo. Edit: Special sidearms acrually count as primaries for Finder Mods, so actually usable. Could we please get the same for Traces though?

  • First thing Bungie nerfed when they went on their "you're too powerful and we can't have you having fun" tear was the ammo economy. Finder mods have been junk for a long time.

    • Tbh I like Scavengers better. It just makes existing drops give you more bang for what drops. But I do agree the HWAF needs a buff so it can be more effective in Heavy Weapon exotic set ups were you would think it should shine. Instead HWAF shines when your using and exotic primary like Quicksilver or Wish-ender

I can run several NF or coil, even the whole new dungeon, without seeing a single brick despite having ammo finder mods equipped and using an exotic primary. Cenotaph and Aeon are pretty much the only reliable ways to get heavies to drop. I wonder what is the level of player loss Bungie needs to think twice? I mean, in the latest TWID they share player data, showing a steep 45% loss in players. So if Bungie misses revenues by 45% while 45% of the core player base is gone, what does that mean to anyone with a positive IQ? Who’s the head at Bungie that thinks: “huh, we need to make the gameplay even more boring so we get players back on track to Eververse!”

        • They need to make ammo finders a charged with light mod. Getting a kill while charged with light could spawn 1 brick. The more stacks of light = more ammo per brick.

        • Is there a reason you're not running a primary?

          • For real. I use the 30th Anniversary shotgun and trace rifle, paired with Heir Apparent. Not even for that old ammo glitch either, they were just really good. Now it's turning into garbage.

            • I believe there is a hidden timer mechanism to it also. Cheese forever covered this many moons ago so it may have changed but probably hasn’t.
