Primary ammo should return, it's an FPS ffs

I have no idea who was the guy who approved the decision to completely remove primary ammo from the game, but he clearly doesn't know the basics of what makes an FPS an FPS. Primary ammo used to be a key part of the gameplay loop in D1, you actually did use to get very low on it and in some instances I remember popping a Primary Synthesis rather than a Heavy one, that was great game design in my opinion. Now, that never really did happen in D2, as ammo was amd still is very, very plentiful (which is another problem in and of itself) but just making Primary ammo infinite is very lazy, lame and outright outrageous to do in a First Person Shooter. There are no stakes while using Primaries no more, seeing the infinite symbol is just weird y'all feel me? And using double primary just feels like using some sort of play testing version, weird to explain but it doesn't feel "gamey" I want primary ammo to return, and for it to be more consequential in moment-to-moment gameplay, and having to actually think on looking for white ammo blocks, like in Destiny 1

  • No those days in D1 sucked -blam!-. There were times when you would have ZERO ammo for all 3 weapons would have to go into inventory pop some ammo all while getting killed. Nope don't miss primary ammo blocks at all.

    • I don’t understand your argument we have unlimited primary M, ammo ammo. What’s the argument?

    • Hard disagree. The current situation around primary ammo is a lot more enjoyable that it used to be. Would rather not go back to that ever again

      • Yeah cause waiting 5 minutes to pop a synth was the most engaging fps aspect of all time lol.

      • Are you actually insane?? Fork that mess. Getting rid of primary ammo bricks and blues are some of the best changes we've ever got. I'd absolutely hate to go back to chasing primary ammo again.

      • If I remember correctly one of the main reasons for removing primary ammo bricks in the first place was to reduce ground clutter to improve performance.. with special ammo finders, special finisher etc it's still possible to cover the ground in special ammo bricks but by removing the primary bricks it significantly reduces the number of ammo bricks your client has to keep track of. Also it kinda makes sense from a lore perspective.. your ghost makes the primary ammo for you from the lights power of creation, whereas special and heavy ammo are made of specific materials that your ghost can't just create out of nothing so you have to find those materials yourself.

I like infinite primary ammo. It’s smart seeing primary exotics are powerful. I never ran out of primary ammo regardless and it’s one less thing for them to maintain. It’s like leveling. It shouldn’t be what we spend our time running around doing. IMO it’s fine the way it is.

          • That and reducing ammo overall might be a good way to add difficulty to the game in different ways. I'm not sure because I haven't played almost at all but last time I did it seemed like the enemies were tankier but heavy ammo was raining from the sky so with stuff like that and with infinite primary ammo a lot of things risk making it so if you wait long enough youll win.
