why tf am I being matched against somebody from the other side of the planet every match, teleporting all over the map the whole time??
Loading in 2 vs. 3, ghost bullets, getting killed through walls, what the heck is going on??
(And tangentially related, WHERE ARE THE ADEPT DROPS?! Sick and tired of beating my head against this miserable matchmaking for nothing!)

Because ping is not part of cbmm
-
Pools and low player base
-
It’s an unbalanced fusion spam fest. The way they analyze data is poor too. Literally fusions are oppressive but they fit Bungies narrative
-
I actually got a bunch of weapons to drop even after I lost and they were "rare". That being said, I did experience terrible ghost bullets, 2v3, OHK through walls, guns that dont fire when you pull the trigger, teleporting glitchy weirdos, teammates AFK even if they did load in, people scripting, using XIM, even having clan name as XIM etc. People using ESP hacks, people using aim bots getting sniper headshots while they jump within 5 meters of you, instakilling multiple players with sniper headshots before you can physically turn (and no it wasnt cloudstrike), OHK melees, No melee registration as you slap fight and hit each other 5 times+, etc etc etc etc. It was truly a depraved hellscape.

Because the top % got what they wanted and kicked casuals out, so the only people you can possible match with is the 12 other players from around the world
-
They move it off of Card to Connection? WHO LEFT THE INTERN BY THEMSELVES?!?!?!?!?!!?

Edited by BraddyBo: 6/19/2023 2:56:11 AMBecause the majority of players are in the practice pool which causes cbmm to be irrelevant in the challenger pool. I have a full connection meter in every practice pool game I play but it’s never full in challenger pool games (almost empty 50% of the time). Bungies needs to stop with this pool nonsense in trials, the player count right now is pathetic and after those players are filtered through 4 matchmaking pools that causes the quality to drastically deteriorate. Instead of 4 trials pools (PC practice/PC challenger/console practice/console challenger), trials should just have 2 pools (pc/console).

OK, I am a pretty awful PvP player (0.8 KD atm), so take this with a grain of salt but I do think I saw some of my bullets were ghosting this weekend. Then again, this was happening specifically in Trials and not Comp or Control, so could just be me being bad and facing stiffer competition in Trials.

Bc the game is dying and very few people playing globally.
-
At some point you have to take the hint that your connection isn't as good as you pretend it is.
-
If you want a hard answer just look up a a players stats one of a higher kd and one of a lower and check the average lobby kds. If it’s truly connection based the average kds shouldn’t be much higher for the good player.
-
Once connection based mm drives out the bottom two thirds of the PvP population it naturally evolves back into sbmm. The question you are really asking is: “where did all the low skill players go?”
-
It's not really only connection based, it would have worked if we only had 1 pool of players, but most of the players play in the practice pool and that's why there isn't enough players for regular pool

I’m glad it’s not just me. I was trying out Hawkmoon with the new comp sniper in trials since the retical changes, and at first I chopped it up to it being my first few games of the day so I needed to warm up. But once I got in groove Hawkmoon bullets just weren’t hitting, and when I got a sniper kill the precision damage number would pop up way after I got the kill.

Fr. I won 10+ matches after flawless (no losses) and only had 2 adepts to drop.
-
The numbers about adept drop rates on a full card are out and it’s a 17% change of dropping on a win. So if you have about 100 wins on a 7 win card you should get 17 messengers (this weekend) aka if you have the shards it’s easy to go flawless and buy one this gives you 2 messengers every 7 games. Hope this helps
