Honestly bro I can literally sum this up pretty well. First oldb.net on that website doesn't show the nav bar era well so check this out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wDjTgmG51o This is from a old moderator who was recording the old b.net before the 2007 relaunch. The community was formally more intimate. Employee came around way more , always had Easter eggs on the website, would play with the community etc. The forums also gave people more individualism. Bigger avatar forum ranks etc. There was a Thing where if you beat bungie 2v2 they would give you armor in the game. They had community favorites in halo for best community pictures video etc. The employee were just more involved. Now it's just the community team. Website design overall was better. I'll give you links to all the designs and forums. We would Call major updates New Hawtness. The link above is from 2004-2007 Old downgraded forums from then. http://web.archive.org/web/20060703163714/http://bungie.net/Forums/topics.aspx?forumID=105242 Old downgraded forums from then. I think 2007-2009 New Hawtness http://web.archive.org/web/20080907064749/http://www.bungie.net/ http://web.archive.org/web/20080913120126/http://www.bungie.net/Forums/topics.aspx?forumID=105242 Old Forums http://web.archive.org/web/20080910230308/http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=22799727 Old Achronos. (2010) New Hawtness http://web.archive.org/web/20101111085823/http://www.bungie.net/ (2012) Good Bye Old bungie RIP New Hawtness http://web.archive.org/web/20120207184400/http://www.bungie.net/ Bungie.next. 2013 Very Tiny Decline from Old Community. http://web.archive.org/web/20141012130450/http://www.bungie.net/ 2015 (major Decline) Including me. I don't remeber when but bungie made it to where if you don't progress in the game you can't post in the forums basically telling old users good bye and thanks for the memories. We are moving on. I personally left for about 2 years. Would check back for updates though. http://web.archive.org/web/20151106030355/https://www.bungie.net/ 2017 ( Major amount of new users). http://web.archive.org/web/20170525024724/https://www.bungie.net/ 2018(basically today onward) http://web.archive.org/web/20180606105614/https://www.bungie.net/ I Will always Love Bungie, but I have to admit even though I'm a ninja if you were not here pre 2012 you missed out on something that will Never be replicated. So many Of Us gone and slowly still leaving. So many great community members ugh I cry to think about and Guess what I was only 9 years old when I first came and 11 when I signed up for this account i'm now 25 so I grew up here man. Also Watching community members become employees is so amazing especially Dmg Duardo etc.

  • I was hoping someone was still around that had all this stuff. I never keep archival things like that, but just remember what was, changed, and is.

I couldn't agree more. There was something incredibly special about that era. Everybody knew each other, there were characters, personas, memes, people got known for this and that, Bungie had a zany sense of humor, it was amazing. Now it's just a sanitized facsimile of a company and culture I used to love. It's like walking into the ruins of an old theme park you used to hang out with friends at. It's an abandoned mall. The stores still have their names and there's still electricity, but it's dead.
