Fine I'll say it, new Solar is better an I'm tired of pretending it isn't

I think it’s worse than before. But it all depends on what you want in a build. Honestly the 3.0 subclasses to me is just another way to sunset supers like they spoke about before. My solar titan build is long gone with 3.0.

Classy restoration is directly tied to hunter survivability unless you're using Cowl or Wormhusk. After that's gone they're hoping people will be too deep into Arc 3.0 to notice.

If you're staying alive longer in warlock solar 3.0, it's because you're not using void 3.0 to its fullest potential. Devour keeps you alive infintely better than anything you see in solar 3.0.

Hmm... Dawnblade, Golden Gun, Gunpowder Gamble and Hunter's ability to get regeneration etc. would disagree. Then remove the artifact mods on top of that and then see how "powerful" it really is.

It's just enabled me (a bang average player) to solo Pit of Heresy for the first time ever. For dudes like me classy restoration is easy mode.

I mean, I love being able to icarus dash with Well on but there's only really one option for a super for locks. Titan & Hunters are the most well rounded without exotics, chuck in some exotics and they become powerful. Locks have like 2 exotics they can chuck on to git gud but without exotics we're pretty well meh

Solar is now the best subclass for all classes, but only in highly specific builds. You get super high damage with good enemy control and near-immortality if you play your cards right, but I feel like there's too much mental overhead and every build feels like it's going to fall apart if you're missing one piece of it. Plus, Scorch and Ignite are just way too slow to be practical in general gameplay. Void and Stasis are objectively worse, but they feel better because there's less effort involved in maximising the builds, perks/mods can be mixed-and-matched much more freely and all of the "Core Verbs" e.g. Devour, Weakness, Suppression fit into your gameplay loop so much more easily. I'm still riding on the high of the Warlock Thanos Snap build (Lord knows that Fusion Grenade spam got very old very fast), but the Void and Stasis options I used last season get more tempting by the day.

I'm sure you're expecting me to flame you, but I'm right with you here. While I DO miss being a jack of all trades well of radiance (healing grenades AND damage whenever I want?) The added versatility of the new system (SWARM GRENADES ON A WARLOCK WOOOOO) really lets me specialize and become the best I can be at either raining fire or keeping myself and everyone else alive. I can't do both at once like I used to, but I'm really feeling your post here. Just took me some getting used to for the new stuff vs. my usual well of radiance aggression. Keep your head up, and hopefully we run into each other!

I have been rocking that sh*t with my titan. I was confused why everyone was so upset about it, though I suppose it was mainly the Warlock one that was mentioned all the time. Took a break from mine for now, but I should probably play with my Warlock at some point.

4 RepliesThey should have had 1 of the aspects be support based two are top/bottom tree 3rd is useful to all, that air stuff fun but will not transfer to end game especially gms, the buffs helped at least but still weird how they forgot middle tree exists.

The man's right solar 3.0 is both good and fun I've never enjoyed my titan or warlock on solar as much as I have when messing with it this season, not to mention before this season I downright would never ever use solar hunter unless it was celestial nighthawk dps. You had your old builds you liked alot and you feel invalidated that you can no longer replicate the exact same play style and that's valid. But the absolute level of baby rage crying you people just will not stop spewing out is entirely pathetic

2 RepliesEveryone just likes Solar because Restoration is the most busted healing ability in the game. We'll see how good Solar really is when all the fun mods go away and Bungie eventually nerfs Restoration.
