Honestly, I think it deals with the fact that a lot of Xbox users prior a set point had to use game chat always , I didn't have discord or anything, had to get good at talking an dealing with people . PSN never had the strongest support for chat (I am also a PSN user) and PC was usually always text (I was a WoW/LoL player)
