Account Hacked

My bungie name was StormAstral. As of 1 in the morning EST, someone logged in to my account, linked some unknown PSN, changed my Bungie name and deleted all three of my characters that I have had since Destiny 1. Characters that have 5 thousand hours on them, and all the perfect rolls for all of my favorite weapons. I am praying to GOD that Bungie has some sort of stored cache that can let these characters be recovered. It happened only about 10 hours ago, so I am hoping the data is still there. I will do anything to get these characters back. Destiny has been my personal escape from the world for 7 years. If anyone at all can help, please let me know. I can't find a better way to reach out for help aside from posting this, so any advice on how to better reach out and get help from Bungie would be greatly appreciated. I don't want this to be how my destiny ends.

  • Regardless of how or why your characters were deleted, Bungie does not provide a service to restore them. https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360048717732-Deleted-Item-and-Character-Policy
Bungie does not provide the following services: Restoration of deleted characters Recovery of dismantled, scrapped, deleted, or otherwise discarded items Recovery of mistakenly Infused items Recovery of items lost due to a Character's Postmaster being full Recovery of items lost due to Player Inventories being full Restoration of access to items or content gained through game sharing Refunding in-game currencies on accidental purchases Refunding Silver or transferring Silver between platform accounts, Destiny releases, or inactive accounts in any capacity Transferring items or characters between platform accounts or inactive accounts in any capacity
Additionally, for someone to add an account to your existing profile they would need to know the log in credentials to one of your accounts. I would strongly suggest you change all your account passwords and insure two factor authentication is enabled on each. You can read through more information on how to secure your accounts in Bungie's Account Security Guide.

    • Can I ask something... Why would someone "hack" your accounts and do what they did??? For someone to go through the trouble of hacking multiple accounts there had to be a reason.

    • Exact same thing happened to me at the exact same time. I looked at the logs and noticed it came from Quebec , CA. I also had 5000 + hours.

      • Unfortunately Bungie does not restore deleted characters or items, so they are gone.
Whether due to accidental deletion or unauthorized account access, Bungie does not recover manually deleted characters or items, and does not replace in-game items that are lost or dismantled. Bungie does not provide the following services: * Restoration of deleted characters * Recovery of dismantled, scrapped, deleted, or otherwise discarded items * Recovery of mistakenly Infused items * Recovery of items lost due a Character's Postmaster being full * Recovery of items lost due to Player Inventories being full * Restoration of access to items or content gained through game sharing * Refunding in-game currencies on accidental purchases * Refunding Silver or transferring Silver between platform accounts, Destiny releases, or inactive accounts in any capacity * Transferring items or characters between platform accounts or inactive accounts in any capacity https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12211
The only way someone would have been able to add to your cross save would be if they could authenticate one of the other accounts you have on cross save. It is highly recommended that you change your passwords on all accounts and enable 2FA if you've not already done so.
