Weapon Crafting (needs to be looked at long term)

So weapon crafting is "cool" but has some serious issues that I feel are intentional and just there to annoy players. Firstly you cap resources and have NO way other than going into the resonance engine and selecting a perk to see what you "have". Secondly which is my biggest issue and is gunna become an issue as the months go by which is. no progression on the weapon level is saved ANYWHERE. why the hell is progress not stored in the collections under the "weapon pattern" I dont care if you give us an option in the "shape section" of crafting that either lets you start fresh at level 1 or use an existing "stored level" at a cost of course to save grinding out 16+ levels on a weapon. You know players are gunna want more than 1 version for MULTIPLE reasons. Heck why are enhanced traits at least not stored once obtained....... you basically made crafting the most convoluted system imagine (should have expected this) and its only gunna get worse as you add more stuff to craft and more RNG rolls that cannot be crafted. Thirdly, why the hell are no resources given back during a dismantle. this will become an issue because when vault space is filled with resonance frames and crafting weapons, eventually players are gunna have to make a choice on what to ditch and what to keep yet you offer nothing in return. its also evident not all weapons will be added to crafting so players will have/keep existing older weapons due to double perk combos and etc. which also seems to be missing in crafting.

    Why would you keep multiple resonance frames though? You only need to fill the bar, extract the mats and then scrap the gun. You get the Blueprint, build a basic version, level it up for all the perks.

    • All bungaroo did was remove the RNG element but kept the irritating grind in the game for you to shape a weapon according to their loot pool. People bent over backwards when they heard crafting but this ain't it even remotely. I only shaped one weapon and have zero interest in shaping garbage to get to the good rolls. That, and the 5/5 for some weapons is heavily RNG based because I can't even progress a side campaign mission since two weapons haven't even dropped with red yet for me. I'm not about to spend an entire year farming the front door of Grasp to level up weapons that might have decent traits. Lastly, none of the origin traits are useful for my playstyle. Between this and the orb fiasco basically bungaroo just wants to make sure you're as weak as you can be but use some corny new seasonal broken ridiculous weapon until enough people cry about it.

      Bungie manipulating their systems whatever it may be is designed to work against the players. Why the hell would anyone expect them to create anything that actually works in this game? Nothing they do comes without some sort of dumb price. Oh, and before any Bungie can do no wrong players make their oh so special comment "you guys just want everything handed to you"🤦‍♂️ No, Bungie can at least learn create something without making it so damn annoying. It sounds to me like it's just another waste of a players time to add more lame padded playtime. Not that most of this game isn't built around that. Once this little short lived honeymoon is over and everyone burns through Bungie's "engaging content"? Reality will set in and back to the same boring process Bungie has offered since Activision left them.

      • Deepsight resonance drop rate weapons is painful.... About 4-5h in wellsrping to get all 3. Raise the droprate or lower a amount needed.

      • I had to delete 2000 psychogenic intel because it’s capped and the quest wouldn’t progress because when you’re capped it doesn’t drop. And you can’t move any to vault. And there’s no slider. All or nothing baybee…the Bungo way

        • I couldn’t actually complete the campaign on my second character because my alloy was full, the very last step is speak to ikora and she gives you some alloy and I had to go and waste all my other stuff to craft a random weapon to use some up just to speak to her

          • I am capped on materials and don’t have the weapon patterns I need to keep going. Gonna be a long crappy grind just to get patterns. I also heard there are all sorts of issues with the enhanced perks or traits too.

            • My biggest issue with it is that basically your forced to farm for said weapon blueprint by getting the red weapons over and over again completing the resonance then after that you get the blueprint you have to grind the level on it till you max it out which tbh is way too much to ask for one weapon that’s just an absurd amount of time to spend on the game for one good roll I’d rather farm for rng based random rolls than do that honestly I’m not using the weapon craft till they make some major changes to how the system works right now the idea is good what they came up with is just god awful

            • I think it's biggest downfall is you can only create decent weapons, not god rolls because the best perks are locked behind rng rolled weapons. In my opinion there isn't much incentive to invest that much time on 1 weapon when you can get an rng weapon that's way better.

                • I love the premise hate the execution. It’s what I expected though sadly . It’s a bummer abs will hurt long term. Once the novelty wears off .

                • Getting the right material for my exotic catalyst, felt like high end game RNG. Knowing it just as crazy for legendary is kinda heartbreaking. Materials need a fix that's all.

                • I’m scared for the deepsight resonance drop rates for the raid weapons. We need 5 and the 4 hours I spent grinding wellspring yesterday don’t inspire confidence considering I one got 1 deepsight bow to drop. The current selection is really shallow and the weapons don’t have great perks. The foundry world drop weapons should all be in there. I know I’d grind for the Omolon GL and Suros HC if they were there.

                  • It doesn’t have hand cannons so I’m pretty indifferent about the entire thing. Not even a kinetic Glaive. This will probably be the beta like with the loom where we had to jerk off a donkey, talk to sea monkeys and solve the homeless crisis to get the thing done and then they made it easier. I am sure they do this -blam!- on purpose at this point and just expect it.

                        Biggest issue for me is grinding Deepsight Resonance. I don’t want to use I gun I have [i][b]no interest in using[/b][/i] just to get the materials to shape/reshape the gun I [i][b]want to use[/b][/i].

                        • That’s why they should have utilised collections space Store/equip weaponry Work on [b]all[/b] the perks available on that weapon (as seen in D2 Gunsmith etc) via gunsmith bounties/quests/PvE or PvE requirements) Including crafting & masterworks (make multiple) & swap at ease Once fully unlocked & mastered/forged It’s yours to leave/acquire at will All progress is stored & retrieved from where left at Work on all classes of weapons (180 hand cannons etc) - to acquire progress to gunsmith & armourer seals

                        • Remember this is supposed to be a grind otherwise we will all have God Rolls. However, not seeing what stash I have of material when I'm choosing the path when I level up a gun is kinda annoying.

                        • I absolutely agree we need to be able to see resources easier but without dumping them on our inventories idk what they could do…… maybe have less currencies for crafting? Also I kinda felt part of crafting a purpose was so we don’t need 5 rolls on one gun. You have one and you swap stuff out as needed. People are complaining about vault space so needing fewer guns is an interesting way to go. I see the cost to swap stuff being a none issue pretty rapidly for most players like it’s day 3, I didn’t bother the first day with crafting and deleted Redbox guns and I’m still swimming in mats I’d also love to see us able to have multiple traits on a gun so we can switch stuff on the fly, other weapons have it.
